I live in Seattle. This was fun. Very fine line between hipsters and homeless people. Not sure about fishermen. I'm glad you saw the Starbucks mermaid that way. No kidding, like 25 years ago my friends and I were by a Starbucks. One asked if that symbol is a broken women. Flamboyant gay man who is walking by us said "no, it's a mermaid who is either advertising coffee or her cooter". 😂

#MatteoLane, next time you're at The Market, go around the corner to the left from the guys who throw fish to DeLaurenti Food & Wine... they are a genuine Italian family from Torino, and their food is SOOO good!! It would at least give you an idea of what the real Italian food scene is in Seattle.

People from other places use umbrellas. People who understand the difference between Seattle *drizzle* and actual rain, don't bother. Although, strangely enough, Seattleites also get all freaked out when it rains and don't want to walk or drive in it. I'm from L.A. and I don't get it either way.

As someone who lives and works in Seattle, I can tell you exactly why...it's because most of the time when it rains, it's like this annoying mist rather than actual raindrops coming down, and umbrellas don't really do shit in that kind of weather. It's easier to just wear a raincoat (if you have to walk anywhere) or a beanie/hoodie ( if you're just driving to the store or something).

Also I CAN'T BELIEVE as often as you've been to Seattle, a good Italian boy like you couldn't find a good Italian restaurant in town. They're almost as ubiquitous as Starbucks.
