The whole video was hysterically funny but with that said I almost fell over when you said the northern Italian won’t have blood but his southern Italian will. That summed up the whole peninsula. Yes, his mother is half Mexican and half Italian. His father is Irish . He said it once before, you would never known because he really is desperate to convey being Italian. My friends father is Japanese and Filipino , the mother is American( mix of Western European of some sort. It would be odd if she was walking around speaking Japanese and forcing the stereotypes but was never born in japan, is as much Filipino as she is japanese, but only talks “Japanese this, and in japan this and walking around in little Tokyo its kind of cringe .” I get being proud , but it’s weird because it comes across contrived and forced. My friend is proud being Japanese/Filipino, just used her as an example .

LAST time I was in Little Italy there was a festival going on at night with tons of people and one of the stands had THE MOST GORGEOUS Italian guy working the counter and I must have walked back and forth 20 times just to stare at him. Rice to Riches is TOTALLY worth a stop when you are in Little Italy.

Enjoyable video. Next Italian food stop in New York for Matteo has to be Arthur Avenue in The Bronx. There’s a real sense of Italy’s great food choices in all the shops and restaurants. I wonder if Matteo has ever been to The Bronx? Little Italy in Manhattan is for tourists, although that one store with all the pasta, cheeses, flour, deli meats, and ravioli called Alleva Dairy is impressive and clearly surprised Matteo. Alleva Dairy is the oldest cheese store in the United States and opened in 1892. It makes some of the cheeses it sells. It’s at 188 Grand Street.
