Matter manipulation animation test

Animation test I did for my show idea. Concept inspired by earthbending, It's an environment on a spaceship where the material it's made from can be manipulated.

Was this rotoscoped from a 3D animation or did you use some sort of reference that looks like it was 3D animated?

Do you mean for the character, the block or both? Because actually nothing isn't rotoscoped and I didn't use any reference!

@@Flameoart My bad, I meant the character it moves EXACTLY like a 3D animated character would and I couldn't tell if I was tripping or you rotoscoped it. Thank you for clarifying!

@@65moneyChains no problem! That's actually an insane compliment then :> the original key frames i layed out were a lot more flat but I got great advice from my classmates and was able to get it to this state. Thanks very much!!

If the material on your spaceship can be manipulated like this, is it because the material itself is designed to do that? Or do people in your universe have some innate earthbending-type ability like that?

I'm freaking out that somebody is already interested in how it works 🫠🥹 So basically, it's not an innate ability, rather the main character posseses an amulet that is able to control electric-like energy. This energy flows through the ship material so the character is able it. Throughout the story his ability to control more matter (as well as more complex shapes & transforming it) will greatly depend on his skill level. That's the gist of it! But there's so much more to it as the world building i did has been very extensive. Basically there is a reason for why this is all possible 🤭

I study in an art academy so i had the privilege to use TVPaint 12 on a Wacom Cintiq :) so sadly not very accessible outside of the school. But if you're in need of a simple 2d animation software that's free i also used 2D Pencil Animation that i can recommend!

@@Flameoart I do krita cus of the downloadable pencils- I also have adobe but the rigged flat nature of it doesn’t match the papery story book style, but I’ll check out the program you mentioned! Do you know how much?

@@The_Artistic_Baron_Animations i think the program costs a few hundred euros, more if youre not a student... its a industry standard so hence the price sadly
