I downloaded this game on Wii Virtual Console ten years ago. First time I played it, my room mates watched me play it just for this song alone. Second time I booted this game up, the loading screen music came up; my neighbor across the dorm came into mine because he heard me "playing that one game with the awesome music". I enjoyed the game, but everyone I know knows The Last Ninja 2 as "the game with the awesome music". Legendary.

It is my habit to open my workshop everyday after playing Air of Perdition followed by Central Park Theme remix both by Matt Gray! Both SOLID tracks I predict it will last since I am a sucker for routine! From age of 18 for four years straight I woke up to Annie Lennox 'Love is a Stranger'. I wonder if daily views from one person are viewed and counted as one?

great remix! this song is really timeless. I also enjoy some reinterpretations of it i found here on youtube especially the rock ones that in my opinion really do justice to the song. But of course the original from the original author is still the best. Rock on!

Sounds like modernized techno-version of already awesome tune. Cleaner, more layered and instrumentally distinct as instead of just noises there are real electronic instruments now present. As unavoidable result raw charm and expression of original is lost. It still has the essence of original.

Matt Gray also composed the original song, so I'd say trying out some variation his is prerogative as the creator of the older version.

@@BrokenCurtain Of course he has right to rearrange his own composition. I meant that this version just lacks the raw power and grit original had. SID was immensely good chip for it's time, but what composer of electronic music now has in his/her use is just so much more that there is no need to push instrument (sound chip/card) to extreme performance. Of course I do not know how much Last Ninja 2 pushes that chip's performance.
