Random - I love how this guy has a menorah behind him next to the cross. So many Christians don't even know about the miracle that happened with the macabees. It's a huge temple thing for us Christians. So beautiful. We Christians should embrace that too, obvi without condemning modern jews who celebrate hannukah but as a way to be one with them. It's a beautiful connection, even if we thing those jews are "wrong". The modern jews "get" a lot more about this bible stuff than we do and we need more common bridges with them as our brothers in faith.

i think the Rock Jesus meant that He will build His church is not literally peter as the person himself but prter's "Statement of faith which is( "Thou art the Christ(Messiah") The Son of the Living GOD }and the Rock JESUS literally meant is the place they were presently standing which is caesarea philippi a region entirely located on a huge rock at the base of mount hermon north of israel wherein which these dozen disciples were the very first congregation of the christian Church during that time

Imagine the number of tragedies and deaths when each of these signs was answered. At that time only the prophet received the Holy Spirit and for a certain time, when many believers have the Holy Spirit, have you ever wondered if God would respond to each other's requests for signs? according to obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We must be very clear what Peter answered. He said that Jesus is the Christ. Just remember that in the list of Gods names, you will not find the name messiah, which is the hebrew name of the Greek Christ. Jesus is the son of God.
