@@thelaststand2670 Jesus says a lot, Paul says a lot in those verses. Is your point about good and bad works for the believer, that ALL are judged according to their works for what, salvation? Your picking verses to make what point? Example, Colossians 1:28 says- 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Absolutely appreciate this teaching. These verses are used mostly by Calvinists but also a few others who claim a gospel of faith alone but then say that these verses apply to saved people who are not persevering, turning from sin , and so on, which of course becomes a works based gospel of salvation. In context as you’ve shown especially linking scripture to scripture of between the parable and other verse 100% aligns with the truth that salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone by his grace alone. It also defends salvation being by faith to the Jews also and during the Tribulation. This helps give peace knowing that we are secure in Christ because we have the Holy Spirit given upon belief and not because of this rotten flesh nature we still have to struggle with not to give in to. Thank you 😊

Sorry, my brother. You are the one who is misunderstanding the Bible. Indeed without God's Grace, no one can save his soul, no matter how many good deeds he had performed during his life on earth. For believing he can save himself on his own is a sin against the Holy Sprit, which will not be forgiven (Matt 12:31-32, Luke 12:10). However whoever believes in Christ and wants to be saved by Him MUST live according to His teachings in imitation of His Life on earth (1 John 2:6). For Faith without good works is dead (James 2:26) and one MUST sin no more as befits to a child of God (1 John 3:9). St. Paul said in 1 Cor 9:27, "I chastise my body and bring it into subjection, lest perhaps, after I have preached to others, I myself should become a reprobate." St. Paul, an Apostle, was concerned about the possibility of losing his salvation and said "work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)", thus proving that 'Once Saved, Always Saved', 'Faith alone", "Grace alone", or 'Predestined" is a complete lie from Hell. Do you think obtaining salvation is a piece of cake? Our Lord said, "The gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to Life, and those who find it are few. And beware of false prophets, wolves in sheep's clothing (Matt 7:13-15)." But there are so many who have itching ears (2 Tim 4:3) and follow false prophets.

"should" result in good works. How do you even define genuine and unfettered regarding faith? Will result is not a guarantee and does not prove that faith was genuine and unfettered. Good works before man shows faith but not before God. Ephesians 2:10 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Romans 4 1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

@@BibleLine Hey Trent, thanks for the quick reply and your view. Please don’t take this as me trying to argue my point because I’m not so sure it’s what I believe yet buuut…. If we were in the little season, I guess the argument is there would be so much deception that who’s to say those things didn’t happen? There seems to be accounts of an earthquake that lasted years, accounts of the black plague being much worse than reported, not to mention all humongous cathedrals, canals all over the world-architecture that would be very hard if not impossible for modern society to replicate…and all this was completed in what they call “the dark ages” Again, no disrespect I’m just curious how much if at all you’ve looked into this and if you even consider worth your time! (Maybe not, idk!) Understanding Conspiracy is a KZbin channel ran by Paul Stobbs, a Christian with interesting views. He details all this in different videos. @@thelaststand2670 Just curious why you mix the gospel of the kingdom, which was to the House of Israel, with the gospel of Jesus Christ? Once a person believes on Christ Jesus, they receive the gift of eternal life. They're rewarded for their service at the judgment seat of Christ. The question is, are believers works of gold, silver, and precious stones, or wood, hay, and stubble? Their works will be tried by fire: take heed how you build, and that you are building on the only solid foundation: Jesus Christ.

Pastor, I'm trying to reconcile what appears to be a parallel passage in Luke 19. In that parable there seems to be a separation from the servants (including the wicked one) and the enemy citizens. In Luke 19, the enemies were to be put to death, but it does not seem that the wicked servant is part of this group, and the wicked servant's fate of being cast out is not mentioned here. It could be that the enemies mentioned are the lost Gentiles, whereas the wicked servant in Matthew 25 and Luke 19 refers to ethnic Jews who are lost unbelievers. Just trying to put both of these passages together in a logical fashion. By the way, I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ saved by God's grace alone apart from my works.

I really enjoy and to be honest get a lot from your teaching, but i'm not sure im getting what you mean for me to learn? In Mathew 25 where Jesus speaks about the talents in verse 16 its crystal clear ( he that had received 5 talents went and traded with the same and made them other 5 talents) Now I have been a trader all my life, and i'm pretty sure trading is work, so the servant who buried his 1 talent and had it taken away and was told he was wicked and slothful, was because he did not work with what Jesus gave him. What are some of the things Jesus gave us? 1)He gave us the Gospel 2)He gave us Faith for eternal Life 3) he paid our sin debt 4) he gave us salvation 5) He gave us the Holy Ghost, he gave a pathway to our father in heaven the narrow way, the only way. God Bless You Brother and keep up the Good work Amen Best Regards Ed Hoening

When you think of the servants with the talents, think of the 144,000, the wise virgins. It isn't about the Body of Christ Church. It's Israel's doctrine. If the Holy Spirit Is the Oil then also is not the Holy Spirit a Person? You either have all of a Person or none of that Person. If I have believed in Jesus then I have all of Jesus God the Father and the Holy Spirit. If I have not believed in Jesus then I have not the Spirit nor the Father, It is not like you can have half of that Person in one vessel and half of that Person in another. What then are the vessels and what then are the lamps on this parable? I am kind of confused here. I was told a long time ago by one Pastor Dean E. Nale of Northgate Bible Baptist Church that a parable is not a strict analogy but only, like a circle, touches a line of truth at one or perhaps two points. Was he correct in his interpretation of what a parable is? Others say a parable is an extended simile. I do not know how a parable differs from an analogy though. I know that when Jesus interpreted a parable of the wheat and the tares He expounded exactly what each element represented. If indeed the Holy Spirit Is the Oil how do you get half of the Person of oil in a lamp that is burning and half a container of a Person in an extra vessel? If then the Holy Spirit is God then Is not God infinite and eternal and basically inexhaustible? How then could God once imputed and indwelling a person burn out after giving off so much light? What then are the vessels? If the vessels are people then what are the lamps? If you need an extra vessel then is that the spouse of the virgins? Do oil lamps burn at all for any few days or a season without oil? Then when you interpret the kingdom in terms of dispensationalism and Israel then how does all that work into the picture? Yet if not all Christians interpret the eschatology as Jew and Gentile Kingdom age and Church age etc it sort of appears that this interpretation of eternal security works only if you are a pre trib pre mill futurist.

You bring up fine questions pertaining to this parable. The oil comment was opinionated, and I think Jesse stated that. I’m sure he’s willing to change his mind. I’ll personally study having seen these questions. Even if such is false, it doesn’t mess up the doctrine of eternal security. Believers have the seal of the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. We can see this doctrine very clearly in Ephesians 1:12-14 and 4:30. Thanks for the good comment. - Trent

The Holy Spirit is NOT THE OIL. He is GOD, has been on this earth since Genesis 1:2, even before He created plants and vegetations ON THE THIRD DAY from which oil is made. Jesus did not mention the Holy Spirit on these verses let alone promising him as He did 3 days later on Nisan 14th in the upper room discourse John 14-16. If Jesus did not say ANYTHING about The Holy Spirit then you should not do either, read your Bible as it is written. Eternal security is a promise given by God to ALL BELIEVERS in any dispensation. The difference between US in this dispensation of grace from those in others dispensations is WE are sealed by The Holy Spirit and they did not nor those who will be on this earth during the last week of Daniel. When Jesus gave this parable, they did not have the electricity yet, they used oil to put it in the lamp so they could use it as light in the darkness. That parable represents the jews who will be seeing the signs spoken of by Jesus in chapter 24 so when they see all signs especially the abomination of desolation, they would know that the one who they thought as a messiah is indeed a false one and would choose to believe in Jesus, and flee to the mountain. Those who believed in Him will flee while those who don't believe won't, they are 5 foolish. Notice virgins is in plural while the bride is a singular noun. You might want to compare scripture with scripture when you study your Bible. We are a virgin and not Virgins. Paul said we are a virgin (2 Corinthians 11:2) and not virgins( plural). Jesus has only ONE BRIDE AND NOT MANT BRIDES.
@BibleLine4 ай бұрын
I think we’re being misunderstood lol. The Spirit is not literally oil; he is the third person of the Godhead. He is almighty, holy and God. The point was regarding symbolism with regard to our opinion. Parables aren’t even for the purpose of defining every piece, nor are the pieces defined ACTUAL representations of the thing taking upon the definition. Hence the oil COULD be symbolic of the Spirit. Nonetheless, the points were fair and worthy of study. - Trent

[40] And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." 1 John 5:9-13 NKJV If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. [10] He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. [11] And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. [12] He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. Thanks for the teaching. For me, the oil in the lamps cannot be the Holy Spirit since the Holy Spirit cannot be bought from a shop (literally or figuratively). You need to keep oil in your lamp and maintain your faith during the tribulation, remember the foolish virgins ran out of oil showing that at one point, they had faith. And besides, the Holy Spirit is removed prior to the tribulation as the retainer is taken out of the way. Andyou can take the mark during the tribulation and lose salvation. There is a point during the tribulation (Revelation chapter 14) where there is a harvest of the belivers and unbelievers, and a blessing of all who die with faith.
@BibleLine10 күн бұрын
There is no scripture that states believers can take the mark and “lose salvation,” nor is there scripture that indicates salvation must be earned or kept in the tribulation. Jesus’ payment for sin was eternal for all time. Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone in the tribulation just as it is today. Eternal security is applied the same as it is today. - Trent

@BibleLine Right now, I 100% agree regarding salvation. Do you think that it's the Holy Spirit that is removed as described in 2 Thessalonians 2:7?
@BibleLine10 күн бұрын
Fair enough. That’s good. I personally do believe he that “letteth” in 2 Thessalonians 2 is the Holy Spirit. We believe the tribulation time period is not for the church (believers prior to rapture from Pentecost), but it is for the unbelieving Jewish nation specifically. We tie this to Jeremiah and Daniel 9. We believe that 144,000 Jews will be preaching the same gospel we preach, and that many in the tribulation will come to faith in Christ. I did a study on the mark of the beast in our live section. Probably 2-3 months ago. I do not believe one who is saved in the tribulation will take the mark. They will most likely lose their head before much happens further. Hence, “endure to the end” referring to physical deliverance in the tribulation (Matthew 24). I tossed a lot at you without much context, but I believe you are familiar with these ideas. - Trent
@fender9710 күн бұрын
@BibleLine Thanks Trent, I agree with your interpretation of the tribulation. My thinking is that during the tribulation, there will be no Holy Spirit given to those who start to believe in Jesus since He (HS) has been taken out of the way. Hence, there will be no more sealing and indwelling until redemption by the Holy Spirit, and therefore, it is possible that some could stop believing, fall away, and subsequently take the mark. So salvation during the tribulation is only possible by believing and enduring (belief would have to be maintained), and as you say, no true believer will take the mark.

Rev 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. True love is hard work. Imagine we got judged by if we love God with all our heart, mind, body and strength? If we got judged by whether we love our neighbors as ourselves? Not a single man would stand in that judgement. Because those are the summary of the law, and no man has kept the law. Only Jesus loved his neighbor as himself, don’t take his glory away. You’re interpreting a works based salvation into the Bible when only faith saves. “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10 KJV “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5 KJV

Brother Jesse, I'm listing to your preaching, personally I have never believed in the once saved always saved concept of salvation, how do I turn 1028 pages of old testament and 313 pages of new testimate of my king james bible into all you must do is believe? Its impossible for me to believe that God does not expect us to do anything other than believe, in order to enter the kingdom, when the bible indicates otherwise. Both in the old and new testament. I have to admit believing and having Faith are absolutely essential to salvation, but I cant help feel that God has laid out commands for us to follow in addition to Believing and faith. If it were possible for me to come around to this ( believe and your good to go to heaven) interpretation of the gospel, it would be very comforting. Again how can we interpret the Bible gospel down to one word ( BELIEVE) and be saved? Make no mistake I'm not criticizing you, I love all my brothers in Christ, maybe we are not really that far apart I say God commands us to do things, and if we fail ,we may be punished in this current life we live, not that we go to hell when we die, and I fully understand God will have the final say on who gets into the kingdom, not you not me not any preacher. Tell me friend, do you believe these passages of scripture: 1 John 5:9-13 NKJV If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. [13] These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. John 3:16 NKJV For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 6:47 NKJV Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, [9] not of works, lest anyone should boast. Romans 4:1-8 NKJV What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? [2] For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. [3] For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." [4] Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. [5] But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, [6] just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: [7] "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; [8] Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin." Now please tell me where in these verses does it say to do anything more than just believe?

I think by looking at how people rebelled against God helps give me a better understanding of how graceful God really is. “I took away all food from every city, and you did not return to me” Amos 4:6 Imagine if you were starving like this, and you would not beg God to feed you at all. That’s how the evil was described for Isreal from what I read. And God stayed merciful with them. I also look to the Prodigal Son, where the son was returning home, preparing to offer himself as a servant, but the father doesn’t let him finish and just sets up a party for him because he founds him. I feel like that’s the heart of God. When you go back to him, he’s always free to bring you back in. No matter what you’ve done in the past. He sees you like a child.

@pastorernestalbuquerque4770 I agree our salvation is because of what Jesus has done on the cross. Gods will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, I believe that also. Gods thoughts are higher than our thoughts, no matter how much we think we know. I put my trust and Faith in the work Jesus did for us on the cross, I know he paid my sin debt, I also know Jesus himself left us with commands to follow. If people would take the time to study to show themselves approved with all the Bible apps available , these two narratives can be debunked by the Greek words Ginosko (know) in Mathew 7 and Oida(know) in Mathew 25 . In Mathew 7 the word know /Ginosko is used for relationship or sexual relations e.g. Mary said I don’t know a man. (Luke 1:34) . Those crying out Lord Lord were never in a relationship with Christ. They were living in Sin despite the fact they appealed to Christ by their works. In the parable of the 10 virgins , the bridegroom (Christ in this story) said I don’t know you. We would use the term “I don’t know you from Adam. Jesus said he didn’t recognize them. Jesus statement in the original Greek is an Emphatic “I don’t know you”, also in the perfect tense meaning”I don’t know you from the past, present and the fact he shut the door rules out and future relationship. If you point his out to those following the arminian narrative that These two parables prove salvation can be lost then they are violating sound exegesis and hermeneutics just to push a false narrative. If you can’t reconcile the two stories with the proper interpretations of these two Greek words for know then your interpretations are off

true our works show our heart, but we must also remember the nuances of Paul’s writing style. The chapters and verse numbers were added in much later for our reading when the Bible was compiled. Paul tended to write with a lot of run-on sentences. Continue to read through chapter 3 and Chapter 4. You’ll see that what he was establishing was a rhetorical tactic to explain the necessity for justification by faith. He was essentially building a case as a lawyer would.

@@zae4557 Paul's use of "justify" in Rom 3, 4, might not mean what you think. The literal meaning of the word is "to make just." This is actually what happens when one is born again as described in the beginning of Rom 6 and could be what Paul is building up to in the prev chaps. By "justify" Paul is talking about a transformation and not a judicial act. James 2:24 uses "Justify" in the judicial sense. This is one solution to the contradiction between James and Paul if the meaning of "justify" is different.

@@bobthrasher8226 Romans 3:20 has plainly shown the dilemma. The previously established concept in Romans 3:10-11 that no one is righteous or does good is inline with the reason for the Law. The law was set forth as the standard, yet “All fall short of the Glory of God.” So what then do we do? Ephesians 2:8-9 establishes why we are saved and what mechanism. Through true repentance and faith in the Christ and who he is and what he’s done because of the grace of God. The “contradiction” between Paul and James is not a contradiction, rather, James shows us how we are able to identify true and justifying faith within ourselves and other true Christians. For God, true Christianity is sincere faith. For man to know what a true Christian is, it’s their actions. For it to be works based justification, it would completely undercut penal substitution.

I believe in the Lord Jesus because my Lord, God, and Savior Jesus by His unconditional grace sovereignly changed my heart, my mind, and my free will so that I believed in Him and repented and now I live by faith and strive to lead a life pleasing to Him. Everything I do that is right, true, noble, and just I do through the sovereign Spirit of my Lord Jesus who lives in me. Apart from Him, I can do nothing. The problem with FGT that I’m finding is they take the position from the English mind you, that to believe is a one time occurrence. After which every other passage in the Scripture is colored with this pre-commitment Problem is the English Bible does not inform the original Scriptures, it is the Greek that informs the English translation/translators what the English should read. And the fact is, the Greek grammar indicates it’s not believe but believing or an ongoing belief that guarantees eternal life. Scooting around this fact to then argue secondary tier texts which is resting on a faulty reading of the Greek text (even if the English but it comes out much clearer in the Greek) scooting around this fact makes for a dishonest Bible exposition. Be it intentionally dishonest or through ignorance it’s still wrong. So unfortunately FGT is relegated to the heretical bin together with Calvinism and other gnostic teachings.

As you can see and read, Jesus used the future tense which means the church had not been born yet. Therefore, you cannot apply these verses Matthew 24-25 TO the Church who would be born on the day pf Pentecost in Acts 2 when The Holy Spirit came down from Heaven. The book of Revelation talked about the locals churches (plural) and not THE CHUCRH which is The body of Christ made up of gentiles and jews who believe in the finished work pf Jesus Christ on the cross and SEALED by The Holy Spirit, created by God on the day of Pentecost. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 11:2, The church is a virgin (singular) and not virgins (plural). Jesus has ONLY ONE BRIDE AND NOT MANY BRIDES.

@user-tb5gq7kp5u Don't be silly. There are many churches today which make up the Church, Even *within* denominations. Plus, it's a parable. The book of revelation clearly splits each church, and all who read, into those that overcome and those that do not. Those that keep their 'oil' and those who do not.

@@tomteacher5885 read your Bible as it is written if you are indeed a child of God. When God says THE CHURCH, it means THE CHURCH. Human does not make up THE CHURCH. JESUS DID ON THE CROSS (ACTS 20:28). Have you ever read Jesus says I will BULID MY ( a possessive adjective ), it belongs to Jesus the builder and NOT US neither These churches which are human beings . OIL IS FOR COOKING The book of Revelation has never said those who keep their oil and those who don't? Scripture to prove? ARE YOU KEEPING YOUR OIL? please show me your lamp with oil. Don't be ridiculous.

@user-tb5gq7kp5u OK, I guess we're going to have to agree to differ. I'm not even sure you are a real person at this point as you don't seem to be able to deal well with abstract concepts. I *am* trying to 'keep my oil'- metaphorically to know the messiah, as THAT IS THE POINT OF THE *PARABLE* As there were some Jews who did not accept the messiah when he came, there will be some among the Church, perhaps for example a pope (who heads *a* church, but not *the* Church) who will not accept or 'annoint' their king. They are weeds among the harvest, and chaff among the wheat. This is what a tribulum is for...
@Donasavedbygrace3 ай бұрын
@@tomteacher5885 Tribulation is known as Jacob's trouble Jeremiah 30:6. Jacob is Israel and not THE CHURCH. If somebody is not a member of the church of Jesus Christ then that person will be left behind, even if they said that they are members of a local church. Keeping oil has nothing to do with salvation. It is gift and not a work Ephesian 2:8-9. The only condition to be saved is TO BELIEVE that Jesus is the Messiah and not keeping oil. Keeping oil is work since you have to keep. Salvation is about Jesus and not ABOUT YOU.

Everything hinges on the word believeth which like it or not in the Greek is a present tense active participle. That is an ongoing believing it’s not a once and done. Even though it’s clear in the English that it’s ongoing it’s exceptionally clear in the Greek and that nullifies the whole claim of FGT that you must believe once and done. There is continuity in believing making eternal life conditional from the language of the Scriptures. This means FGT is in error.

I’m pretty sure the KJV translators did a fine job translating it to the correct English usage. They were extremely well versed in Hebrew and Greek. There is great consistency with the message of the gospel when the word “believe” is used. Nonetheless, justification, forgiveness, spirit sealing and the new birth happen in a moment. They don’t come and go… - Trent

Stop putting burden on people because of your blindness. You are on the way to hear ``I never knew you`` Mat 25 clearly show 3 group of people sheep's,goats,and little once. And the whole setup is Temple setup ,with High Priest in the middle,right priest,left common people . So who is responsible to give His little once the Word/Food,to give them Water/Spirit to drink,and to cloth them with salvation? Little once? No you,religious leaders will pay the price for every false word you speak..Its you who will be separated to left or right,not the little once.. so you better watch your words and what you speak to His people/little once Pro 11:9 The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:

Do you obey PERFECTLY? If not then do you really think God would accept your partial obedience? Absolutely not. Do you serve the Lord PERFECTLY? Again, no you don’t. If you’re going to use obedience and service as your standard to get into heaven, then by simple logic you would have to be PERFECT in both your obedience and service, because heaven is a PERFECT place.
