@johnexo84283 жыл бұрын
Doubt he stopped to help. More likely it was to chew him out for dragging him down. Just goes to show you, pushing and shoving out of frustration almost never pans out. More than likely, it throws off your stride, pushes you backward (as you push the guy in front of you, you're going to push backward under the laws of physics) and in this case, got you pulled down. Both Mo and Avila overreacted to the initial jostling.

Doubling lanes in a 1500 is going to lead to this type of thing. They are trying to get center lane, #10 was swimming with his arms, the preferred method. #11 Shoved him into the next lane, which had it's own two person showdown going on, instead of giving up the lane. When #10 was forced back out by those two other runners, he tried to, once again, get the lane. That's when the trip happened. He tried to stabilize his legs, but there was no room. Instead of falling through the field, he grabbed the Jersey of #11, who was still kind of pushing. I don't think you can blame #10, without also blaming #11.

Hi. The fall didn't occur at the start. It happened after around 15 to 20 meters. Meaning officially it occurred DURING the race. As an aside, they should not have started that large number on the line. Possibly with a split start but I didn't see the track marked for that option to be used.
@TheRealBrayo3 жыл бұрын
@@johnwilson5743 yes. At the same time, the altercation started 5 meters into the race, they should have seen that coming. Now, idk what the rules for the 1500m are. @johnwilson57433 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealBrayo Hi Mate. The only way to deal with this is the pedantic way. (Sadly!) The race had too many starters: At least 14 or 15. The limit for a 1500m race is meant to be 12. (Jeez, I think I ran in races that had around 20. Elbows and fists flying. Ha.) But they could have had a second line on the outer for half the runners but they didn't do that. The actual rules for "Obstruction" in races is very vague. At the start of races of 1500m or more, the Race Referee can order the immediate restart if obstruction causes falls. eg "If an athlete is obstructed, the referee may order the race to be held again, or restarted." However, a more lenient approach is used for Heats but not for Finals. I raced Internationally and, as I understood it, it would only apply to the first 10 meters. After that it was every runner for themselves. In 5000m and 10,000m races, the Kenyans would do "team racing" where they would take turns going to the front, then dramatically slow, breaking up the smooth strides of following runners and often causing falls and spikings. Legs would have blood pouring down after this was done repeatedly. (I still have the scars. LOL) It was very difficult to get runners disqualified for deliberate obstruction. But if you were the one obstructed "tough titty" as they say.
