I haven't seen Shameless but I love this couple on Shadowhunters. It' s a fantasy series and Magnus is centuries old, so it can never be all that realistic. However I think the relationship is portrayed in a very loving, respectful and healthy way, which is not common in stereotypical, hypersexual or very dramatic representations of gay couples in the media. They are even the most loving and healthy couple on Shadowhunters and even with all the problems and drama surrounding them you can see that they care deeply about each other and have good communication. I don't even see them as a gay couple, even though the fact that Alec is gay has relevance in his storyline and character development, but I just see a loving couple.

FUCKING THANK YOU MATTHEW DADDARIO. Literally so many shows (sue me but I'm talking about The 100) forces gay couples in a sense to appeal to an audience and it doesn't really work.This show we genuinely get to see progress and a healthy relationship grow. I've never been invested in gay relationships on television but this one is so beautifully done I can't help but be drawn in.

I´ve only found academic papers and books that mention them, but from the very (very) little i´ve read they don´t really explain what a stele is. If you look it up on google images it gives you some photos of some kind of pillars in ancient tombs from different cultures. Has someone else found something different? or even better, more concrete? haha. I love Matt, it´s been told many times he´s great at looking stuff up on google. He has a very particular personality that I´m very drawn to, I love him!
