I have to tell you all about the story behind this video. It was created by my brother-in-law, Dave, who knew Matt through college several years before we had ever met. I met Matt through friends who were my neighbors, and then met Dave, who then fell in love with my older sister. At my time of distress, Dave was the only one I could trust with a memorial video about Matt. He did a great job, I couldn't have done it better myself! Thanks Dave, Love You!

I am grateful that there are people in this world like Matt. Able to stand up with courage for what he believed in. Able to be so kind yet with a warrior's heart. Since reading the Lone Survivor, I too, think of these guys quite often and hope that I can live with courage through my challenges and learn from his example. I pray that Heavenly Father will consecrate his sacrifice to his and his family's good.

Touching video! I read the book...over and over again. Great coverage of true heroism. It's one of those stories that legends are built upon. Matt Axelson, Michael Murphy, Danny Dietz, and Marcus Luttrell had only each other, and in the final analysis they took care of each other. Marcus has the responsibility to re-earn his trident every day. His only easy day was yesterday. What a team. Unbelievable, yet their indomitability and their character lit a candle tha burns bright in the kush

Profound thanks to Matthew and his family on this Memorial Day 2017 and to the countless others who have served honorably and sacrificed so much for the nation. The beauty of his life spent with family and friends that one sees in this video is a brilliant reminder of the fundamental humanity and goodness of the warrior, whose duties so often demand what no one wishes for a loved one. May his soul and the souls of all the good departed rest in peace and find reward in the next life. Every consolation to his wife and all wives, children, mothers and fathers, siblings, friends and fellow warriors. Blessed are the peacemakers and peacekeepers...

It would be remiss of me after commenting about Danny Deitz. But having lost my father in Korea at the Chosin. Reservoir after four years in WWII and a son in Special Forces. A simple thank you is not enough. Having been in the Navy and a Vietnam veteran, I was injured in the Navy and spent three years in the Balboa Naval Hospital and I saw so many of these brave comrades and never ever heard any with such wounds complain, and always wanted to go back. How do we deserve such fine young men. How do we ever repay them this debt. Their bonding make them the most effective deterrent to evil. They are the greatest of men, the Bible says no greater friend has thou than one who would lay down his life for thee. There is no comparison, but I lost my entire class of 1965 to the War in Vietnam, this I will never forget. I hunted and fished with these wonderful dudes. I have fought the undeservingness go coming home alive and making a life, that has been successful, but the gratitude never leaves me how much Danny Dietz, Michael Murphy, Marcus Luttrell and your Matt mean to all of us. I am a Christian and I am reminded your wound is my wound compounded by those I lost in Vietnam. We're are told to bear each other's burdens like The man who bore Jesus's Cross. One day we will all be united, but for Matt is in the arms of the greatest warrior Jesus Christ, you will see him again without any wounds. I have callous's on my knees praying for the five tours my son did in Iraq ,Colombia an Afganistan.SomI know how you have felt. My prayers are for you all that God's peace will reign in your hearts and that you rest in the fact you will see him again without wounds, and your hearts will be healed.

Matt was the last one alive besides Marcus. So Marcus looked over his wounds and then stayed with Matt until he was gone but then a grenade blast separated them and when they were separated all mat had on him was a pistols and three clips. Matt was wounded in the head that rendered him blind or partially blind. When the crew went into recover the fallen SEALS they found axe holding his pistol and saw that he went through two of his 3 clips which means this hero literally fought until his last breath now that is one badass dude and deserve honor and respect from all.

+9989812 Thats correct , and its pissing me off listening to ML repeat it . It was propaganda minister who said that , I have ALL the videos . Matt was never beheaded and anyone who claims he was is supporting BS claims made prior to his recovery on the 10th ( SEALs req they recover him once he was found , they were wearing shorts ....) .Total BS the ' beheading'
