To Mathews parents. You may or may not remember me but I met you on holiday a we years ago with my mum Nicky. You gave us a CD and I just wanted to Thankyou again for introducing him to me. It has been a inspiration and he is one of the most talented musicians I know.

I heard Matthew on Jo Whiley's evening show on BBC Radio 1 in first year at university. Bought the album the next day. Still listening 24 years later. Gone way too soon.

I loved this track and the Draw album it came from. Always hoped Matthew would one day be a success, and never imagined he'd be gone just a couple of years later. Sometimes the stars that burn the briefest, shine the brightest.

My brother had this album years ago when living in Nottingham and I loved this track and always going too soon... many times I listen to it to this day and relate to the lyrics. RIP Matthew Jay very talented

I worked in a record store when this album came out,it was an absolute staff favourite (someone we could always agree on) everytime we put the record on the whole shop would just listen...we sold 'draw' every damn time we played it...without fail..god damn why did he have to go and leave us! He had so much more to give x

I have to say Matthew jay has inspired me during my journey of recording my debut album when my producer put Matthews album draw on it was like a berth of fresh air ,such a shame about his sudden death but his music will live on in every other musician like myself that truly enjoyed him

Just found out about Matthew Jay today when I was discussing Nick Drake and Elliott Smith and I have played "Please Don't Send Me Away" at least twenty times today after I discovered it. Such a good musician and so sad to hear about his early death. At least I know I found someone I will be listening until my death.
