I see a lot of people in these comments may be struggling with addiction. I would just like to remind you all, that If you truly are suffering from addiction. You need to reach out to someone. You’re too far gone, you will not “one day help yourself” you need to call your friend, priest, brother, cousin, mom, dad, uncle, co-worker, aunt, grandma, grandpa a random person at a church etc… let someone help you! That’s what you need, and I know you fear it!

Why does it seem like rehab ppl die first from addiction but yet there are ones that 65 yr or older ones still kickin it ? Explain that ?
@virginia3222 Жыл бұрын
I’m sure you mean well, but most substance users just stop by themselves, without any rehab or AA. Matthew Perry is the exception - after reading his book it seemed like he would have been gone much sooner if he never got any treatment. But most people aren’t like him; the man got pancreatitis at age 30, which is unheard-of (it’s caused by excessive alcohol use).

@ SA, Life was more than kind to him. Life was great to him, gave him every opportunity. He was the one who was not kind to himself and screwed everything up. Just over being an unaccompanied minor and his dad leaving him and his mom at the Canadian Niagara Falls border. Woopie. My parents did way worse to me, I'm 10 years older than Matthew and I'm still here. So are friends who went through way worse than Matthew. I guess I'm lucky I knew to quit drinking when I was 20. Also knew enough not to take drugs. It's a crying shame and such a waste and so sad that Matthew just threw his life away. I didn't watch Friends or follow Matthew Perry so this was all a shock. I didn't know he had these problems until after he died. There are these fake death KZbin channels that are always saying celebrities died when they didn't so the 1st 2 days when I kept seeing Matthew Perry died I didn't click on them thinking fake until I saw it on ABC. I obviously don't have cable. KZbin should get rid of those fake channels. I was shocked to find out it was true. Didn't expect that. Just finished listening to Matthew's book and it really enraged me that he did all that to himself. Hope he's finally at peace.
