He looks like he's younger, he's taking good care of himself. Our country has failed. Even from the currently messed up region of Mexico my family is from they take care of their disabled folks. People know them by name, keep an eye on them and the local government will house them and feed them.

Jose, I just came across this video while listening to a song I'd never heard before by a group called Sidewalk Prophets with Megan Daniels called Looking Up. It reminded me of the homeless people you video. Thought I should tell you in case you might like the song. The first verse and chorus is below. Keep doing what you're doing. You and Katie are two in 2 million! God bless! Holes in his jeans Old shoes on his feet With a cardboard sign at a red light Got a few dollars out Rolled my window down Said, "I hope this helps you get by" He said, "Man I won't tell my whole story But I'll tell you this much" There's a long list of roads to rock bottom Just a handful of ways to climb out Yeah I've been hit with some punches Strong enough to make Superman's knees hit the ground Some things will make you start praying Whether you believe in God or not If you get low enough, you'll start looking up

That sentiment among the US population towards the poor has been growing . It's something that needs to be watched as the united states increasingly views it's poor as " less " than , and increasingly as a burden to get outta sight and outta mind because if people have read history enough theyd know the dangerous trajectory of that increasing sentiment in regards to what has happened to other countries that has dehumanized parts of their populations in the past . A animal nor anything materialistic should have no more importance than that of another fellow human beings life * period * . It's a very dangerous sentiment growing among our society here in the states . People do need to be watching it going forward and I don't think it's going to taper off anytime soon but only grow more prevalent towards the poor especially centered onto the homeless population . America is already a greedy nation and highly atomized and selfish but I think it's going to be scapegoating the poor population across the country as this country increasingly declines internally and the wealth gap growing more prevalent and widespread and noticeable by the avg person . People need to watch that sentiment that is gaining ground . Watch it closely . Like I said people are going to be scapegoating the poor increasingly going forward . I've been trying to point that out for the past few years after I had taken notice of it .

He needs someone who can help him file papers and get him started. If he has a learning disability, he can’t do this alone. I would think his own mother should be compassionate and help.

I think there is much more to the story than this homeless man would like you to know. Most of the time these homeless people are their own worst enemy. I used to feel sorry for them but they do the same things over and over and over again. You as an interviewer give much too much credit to people like this man who continue to make bad decisions day after day.
@TexasGirl-Z7115 күн бұрын
Jose does an amazing job with these interviews. Sometimes people are telling the truth. You aren’t in his shoes or anyone else’s but yours. You should be careful because anything can happen to you. You could have a stroke and end up in a nursing home and wearing diapers till you die or a thousand other things . Never get too comfortable with life and think bad things can’t happen to you. I have seen many people that thought like you end up having some bad things happen to them to where they became homeless or in a nursing home and even death. Don’t judge the poor The Most High God doesn’t like that at all.

You think people with mental health issues are not mire susceptible todays vices? Specially when they have to live with these conditions?
@jeffreycook193515 күн бұрын
@@TexasGirl-Z71 Sorry Texas Girl, I just call them like I see them. I do not exploit poor people in any way I actually try to help as many as I can , But, I have done a lot of social work and the vast majority of people in this mans situation got there by drugs, problems with the police, or by doing dumb things and doing them over and over. Your thoughts about me are misguided.

Yes society has failed many. First, the school does not do a good helping those who have dyslexia or other reading problems to reach their potential and learn to really read. Then in the work force, test are given to climb the ladder which the person can not have anyone read the test to them, even though they have the knowledge.

Tell that young man he DOES need a lawyer. He most likely get Disability without one. He needs someone to expedite it. Please encourage him to get a good lawyer. There's one who specializes in people with Disabilities down by the Hype Park Methodist Church. It's only about 2 to 4 blocks from there. Would he want a job if I could help him out?
