I just made a interesting discovery July 6 1986 Slane Castle in Ireland. The Bangles opened for Queen. Footage of Deb Vicki Susie and Micki Steele as well as Freddie Brian Roger and Deacy, footage from both groups from that gig is on KZbin.

When a song gets covered you expect the performers to bring something new to the interpretation. This is a great example.

@DalitPanther83 Totally agree! John Deacon's basslines are out of this WORLD! Queen are, in my opinion, 100% untouchable. Best band ever!

You can't get to that crisp, razor clean and tight instrumental place Deacon and Brian May got to on the original...but I dare say Hoff's voice penetrates and fits this Queen classic quite well. Nice cover.

I agree. John Deacon and Brian May were part of a very unique sound. Queen are kind of on their own tier, much like the Beatles.

As amazing as Freddie was, Brian, Deacy, and Roger were elite world-class musicians. Brian and Roger, to this day, whether it's with Paul Rodgers, Adam Lambert, or whoever can still go out and perform at an extremely high level.

After listening to this again It's not as bad as when I first heard it. i think it's the instrumental which to me sounds Karaoke like which goes to show just how great Brian Roger and John were and still are as musicians. I don't know if Brian and Roger made right choice to continue performing as Queen without Freddie. What if Vicki and Debbi decided to carry on as The Bangles without Suzie which they almost did in the early 90s.

The original bassline of John Deacon is best.

Deacy was the unsung hero in Queen in many ways kinda like Michael Steele in The Bangles. We all know abour Brian Roger Freddie Susanna Vicki and Deb but show some love for the bass players.

ahh. is it me ? the timing of various parts seems off by microseconds, all throughout. They need to cut this as live as possible..

Much as I like Sid and Susie this is a terrible cover. Not even close to the original, the singing is usually good but this is the worst song for their voices. Terrible.

Absolutely wrong - there are TWO types covers -1 when you mimic the original as close as possible and 2 when = you make it your own and apply new interpretations This is a great example of that second type -it is fabulous, Susanna adds a playful sex kitten tone that the original didn't have other great interpretive covers = Disturbed or Nouella - Sounds of Silence and Concrete Blonde -Beware of Darkness
