It's nice to see that my common sense post about forgiveness got 12 thumbs up. I have a friend who has been in the UPC church for 41 years and he has hardly moved past square one as a Christian. UPC doctrine is false doctrine straight up.

@@wjdyr6261 #1 Oneness doctrine is a rehashed heresy called Modalism. Look it up. # 2 It doesn't matter if you baptize in Jesus name or in the name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost as Jesus taught. A late 1st century church document called "The Didache" explains how baptism is to be done. Look it up. #3 They teach conditional love and conditional grace. Unconditional love is true love, conditional love is humanistic love and not of God. #4 They are legalistic to the max and base salvation upon their own works. It's Jesus + themselves keeping themselves saved. #5 They believe in Loss of Salvation which is the main reason they stay baby Christians. They don't now or understand eternal security and they don't know or understand what love is and how love thinks. #6 They are full of spiritual pride and are hatefully judgmental. # 7 They have far more head knowledge than heart knowledge.

@@eagle3351 And why is that? Maybe my example was a bit harsh but you know what Jesus said. Matthew 6:15 "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." John 8:24 “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” In other words, not believing sends you to hell according to Jesus. So according to the bible if a person believes in something else or another religion and not in Jesus they are to be condemned forever? Does that make even the slightest bit of sense? No, it doesn't.

@Bob.55 Yes, he said forgive as I forgave you. Take up your cross and follow me. Forgiveness clears our heart. Their Repentance clears theirs.

@@eagle3351 There is a right way to learn bible, and a wrong way. The way UPC teaches the bible is childish and whacked. I mean sure it works for them but it enslaves their minds and turns them into obedient little slaves. God is a kind, wise father/teacher God, not some BCE middle eastern , egotistical king who says obey me or I will chop your had off. Lol I learned bible the right way in my little hometown Lutheran church back in the 50's and 60's.

@@eagle3351 Yes know what Jesus said, or at least what the gospels say, he said. Not one of the gospels was written by the disciples of Jesus. The first gospel (Mark) was written 30 years after Jesus died. Noone followed Jesus around with pen and paper in hand to write down everything he said. But that is a bit off subject. Ask yourself this, how is unbelief a crime? And not only that, how can a Christian justify eternal punishment for it? How can you justify anything worthy of eternal punishment? You can't, and you know you can't.
