For real..sleep is paramount…naps are a hack too. Sleep is literally reparation. The body repairs itself greatly in sleep especially on an empty stomach.

I'm convinced that I'm not the only one with chronic sleeplessness from childhood on So much to say about that but where do I begin. A child just thinks it's normal, that it's the only one in the house that's not sleeping. Its just the way it is. I can name a few causes for child sleeplessness that I never read or saw anywhere. What about poor children and children with severe illnesses. Children with chronically ill family members. High IQ'd and sensitive children. It will get ingrained in the brain, the sleeplessness, or it was already in the DNA. How do you get that right. And better: how do you help people truly and not only bombard them with videos and articles that makes them scared.

Great! After six years of chronic sleeplessness, I might live another four days! There is nothing like hearing you need more sleep, but night after night, the insomnia persists. A slow panic is setting in.

I get what you mean. I think we should just try to improve our sleep in a relaxed way and in my case not get angry with this kind of "advice". It's not advice. It's not adding up to healthy sleep at all.

Sleeping enough is very important. The most important thing is don't used your waking hours doing shitty things.Used your waking hours wisely, but get enough sleep.

What do we know about those people in that study he mentions? He doesn't tell. Are they already sleeping lesser than normal all of their lives? How many hours did they normally sleep? What's going on in their lives?

.. and what annoys me even more, is that it's always the same old story. Tweaked by new findings but always the same viewing modes. And throwing some new findings in the mix and that's it. No solution provided for for instance people that work on night shifts. I mean no extra note in the study books of the company doctor. No accommodation. At least it would be such a relief to be taken seriously.

Wrong the deeper your sleep the longer your life. There are two types of sleep deep sleep and normal sleep. 20 minutse of deep sleep is equal to 1 hour of normal sleep. So you need atleast 7 hours of normal sleep But you ideally need only 3 hours of deep sleep. Do the math. 1 hour = 3 hours. 3 x 3 is 9 hours. but generally we get a good hour of deep sleep so we sleep 6 hours of normals sleep that is why we need 7 hours of sleep. but practically it will take 20 minutes to sleep so we need around 4 hours if we deep sleep 3 hours in that those 4 hours.

@@gerrardjones28 haha youtube expert! You don't need to be an expert to read peer reviewed studies. A study way back in Edison times was done on Edisons lab worker. They worked 18 hours a day standing and slept only 4 hours a day. only 2 hours they spent on eating shitting and bathing. The study found that for 6 months new interns would face problem but by 6 months they would get accustomed and they would get deep sleep 4 hours. So based on this study other studies were done on deep sleep. There was an indepth article in a health magazine some 20 years ago I remember reading it there. Then I also saw a documentary on sleep that mentioned the same study. It is a fact that "trust me bro" experts don't know they think 9 hours of sleep is good. In way it is correct. If you don't get deep sleep you need 9 hours of sleep. In the long run a person doing 9 hours of regular sleep underperforms someone who sleep 4 hours a day of deep sleep. This is what peer reviewed studies showed. Expert my ass.

This kind of "advice" is not helping anyone. Each and every time this stream of making people scared because they don't sleep well. I have a message to you all: it's not a choice!! Everybody wants to sleep well, but it's not attainable for many people that already tried everything. It's like a parent saying to a teenager: come on, don't be so shy! As if that helps! 🙄🙄
