Take the notes. That’s helpful. But as you and you family are in this time of transition, be sensitive to them. Be the most loving person you can be. Pray with them , read scripture together, etc. but avoid arguments at all costs. Explain if they ask a legitimate question, but stop the conversation if it’s turning into an argument. I had to learn the hard way.

@@danpozzi3307 i grew up a protestant Christian, & we never really stuck to One Church. So my dad bounced around alot, we went to Assembly of God, Pentecostal, Methodist churches, Baptist Churches. But that actually helped me see the truth when I got older, bc I remember all the diff churches we would go to, then yrs later we would change churches . and my dad would say this church was doing falsehood, that it's not a good church, so as I got older that's what helped me see the problem in protestantism. So when I became an adult I learned more, that Assemblies of God believed in things I didn't know the Methodist didn't believed in, I didn't know Pentecostals taught diff things. Then i realized these churches are not just teaching diff things, they have a totally diff Gospel. All these churches have salvation issue differences, I basically saw the problem with protestantism 1st. then I started studying other religions, and helped me see Catholicism was Biblical 100% It was the scriptures that I couldn't deny anymore, I just finally realized I had the wrong interpretation of the scriptures, & I saw that sola scriptura is a self refuting argument💯 But did that answer your question my friend

@@danpozzi3307 and basically I could add as a adult who never married when I came back to the faith I used to believe the Baptist Church was true. cuz I left Christianity, and became an atheist, so when i came back to christianity I believed the Baptist Church was the true church. but I never truly committed myself to a church, as an adult. growing up protestantism just messed me all up so bad, I just became an atheist most my life, and I believe that was because of protestantism, I realize that there's no way God has all this confusion for his church. that this is all man-made religions, that Jesus wasn't real to me, because it was just too much confusion for me I couldn't see the truth. So I believe that God just put me through that path to see the confusion in protestantism, so when I came back to the faith all I wanted to do was study to find that 1st church, & be just like the first Christians.💯

Only available in Catholic and Orthodox churches. Here is why: ●JOHN 20:19-23 19. Joe Castillo Jesus Church is Jesus body on earth with Jesus as its only head. Ephesians 1:22. How do we become children of God? As many as believe in Jesus God gave the right to become children of God John 1:12. Then we are baptized into Christ Jesus body his church. Saint Peter says that we are living stones of the spiritual temple 1 Peter 2:4-10 We become a royal priesthood of believers with power to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the power of god unto salvation to all who believe Romans 1:16.

The Pope is the direct successor of St. Peter. He is the lawful successor of the Pope who preceded him, until we reach St. Peter, the first Pope, chosen by Christ Himself. All the sees founded by the apostles perished or were interrupted, except the see of St. Peter alone. Just by the way. It's as though God himself knows nothing of the Catholic doctrines of Mary because... In the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". In fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said: "... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..." Matthew 6:8‭-‬9 And... "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6 And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says: "Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25 Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Romans 8:34 And the Holy Spirit: In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; Roman 8:26 That's good enough for me. So, in conclusion, in the Bible the idea is NOT to go to the Son's human mother (or to anyone else), who then goes to the Son, who then goes to the Father with your request. No, your Heavenly Father's wish and desire is that you come DIRECTLY to Him with all your prayers and petitions. I'm not kidding. Check it out for yourself. So why go in little circles when the Father wants, and even commands, that we come directly to Him. "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father." John 16:26‭-‬27

When I was a teenager, long before my conversion to Catholism, an evangelist was whipping the crowd into a frenzy of what we viewed as worship. This was Alabama and he was trying to make the point that the Ten Commandments demanded we put God first in worship so we should get more excited and give God more applause than the Crimson Tide. I was all for spirited worship, but the moment caught me off guard because I knew he was misquoting. The Ten Commandments demand we worship ONLY God. Only. I immediately realized that there was nothing we were doing to "worship" that we didn't already do to honor, cheer, comfort or encourage living human beings. Even prayer. How many times had pastors emphasized that prayer just meant "talk to." This bothered me for a long time.

No priest, no Church, no sacraments = no Grace and thus no salvation. Salvation is by Grace and has nothing to do with us being good enough or doing anything for the gift of salvation. I read the visions by st Anna catherine Emmerich. She had many Re Mary and those last hours during the passion. It’s detailed and fascinating. Much of what she states Re the shroud, were factually revealed in the shroud we know today… revealed to us through science 2000 years later.

Hey @@mustardseed123 right now I am doing great. I've finally sort of settled. It's been a really difficult time, especially since I was shunned by my previous congregation and I lost a lot of people I love. That said, I don't see me ever going back to the way I was. I've really learned a lot, and I am happy that I'm a baptised into the Catholic Church! It took me some effort to find a good parish, but I found a real good parish with loving people and also a priest who takes things seriously. Unfortunately I also encountered some where things weren't taken serious. I think two things really helped me: 1. Understanding that having fellowship is of absolute vital importance, and really doing my best to get to know the people. 2. To not be over-anxious and having anxiety as a basis to study things, but also not to let those nagging doubts or difficulties remain; read some good books on topics that are difficult, it will really help when done with the right motivation. I could say a whole lot more, feel free to ask more if there's anything specific, or if you wish prayers, or whathever 🙂

For centuries popes have burned or hidden any knowledge that might empower the people to self-realization without the interference of church authority. The Vatican is a den of thieves, the mother of harlots, the Synagogue of Satan. There is no trinity of three equal gods in the Bible, no purgatory, no divine goddess Mary people should pray to. The church burned Jan Hus to the stake, and they have killed millions of innocent people in Crusades, Inquisitions, and holy wars to this day. She was the most blessed woman in history but she has passed on and her body is in the grave waiting with all the other saints for the resurrection while her spirit is in the heavenly realm along with all the spirits of the saints whose bodies are in the grave. Yes Mary was the most blessed woman but the entire new testaments focus is on her son Jesus and what He did for us. You have 20 verses in the new testament that reference Mary by name and yet not one verse to promote her past being the mother of Jesus and being the most blessed woman in history. The writers of the new testament point out the children of Mary and the brothers and sisters of Jesus and yet do not point out the amazing attributes that you ascribe to her? I call her Mary the mother of my savior , I do not call her a verb.

Jesus established the Catholic Church. He promised us that He would be with His Church and us until the end of time. On the night of the Last Supper, Jesus prayed to His Father that we would be united with Him as one, just as He and the Father are one. He left the Holy Spirit to protect His Church from error. The Catholic Church cannot teach anything that is in error in terms of faith and morals. Teaching Mary as the Mother of God, her perpetual virginity, her queenship in Heaven, are dogmas. We never trust tradition over the word of God. We are not to waste time on Mary. We honor her but even Mary would not want us devoted to her. Our devotion needs to be on Jesus period. As an ex-Protestant, I really struggled to understand why appealing to Mary could benefit me when I could approach God directly. But, much prayer, experience and time revealed to me that I could not master my weaknesses and failures nor acquire the graces I so desired. I realized that I needed the help of additional intercession. Asking Mary to pray for me was the obvious choice. I began to say the Rosary - regularly and in a disciplined way. After some time, I began to notice significant changes in me. Gradually I began to recognize Mary as a gift of God to us Christians. She does indeed intercede for us and God hears and honors our appeals to her.

Interesting thought, but I'm not sure they are meant to represent that. On the other hand, a much more simple understanding that I have heard is that the cherubim are always present in the presence of God, so by being on the Ark they show the presence of God within. Also it doesn't seem that the angels we see appearing to Mary and Joseph are cherubim, but I can't personally say that with complete certainty. Interesting thought though.

When Protestants find Mary they find the true Church and are lead to Jesus in the fullness of truth. When Mary said Yes to God, she knew scripture and she knew she was saying yes to his death on a cross. Mary is also the second Eve, the first took the fruit from the tree, the second placed the fruit of the vine back on the tree and we are given back eternal life in him who paid the price to save us.

Jesus is the bread of life, does that mean he is made of whole wheat flour , salt, sugar , and a bit of yeast? The Jews walked away from Him when they realized what they were looking for was the end of oppression with a Messiah who would come with a sword and kill the bad guys and here is the Messiah healing ,saving, and teaching about His father , and nothing to do with war. We all want to be on the winning side and the Jews at that time were no different but what they were being taught was at odds with what the Lord wanted . So in the Eucharist do you and the priest drink from the four goblets of wine? What does the magisterium have to say about the true Passover in regards to the Eucharist?

The Jews did not walk away from Him because they did not see the messiah they wanted to see. In John 6, they walked away from him because they wanted food and Jesus instead was talking about the everlasting food that he provides from heaven, which is His body and blood. He asked them to chew on his flesh and drink his blood. They walked away from Him because they thought he was asking them to be cannibals. They thought He had lost His mind. What you are describing is the general reason why they rejected Christ. Not the right reason in this context. Also, if scripture can be interpreted from the context alone, why is there so many denominations and interpretations? If it can be interpreted from context alone, why have pastors, churches and teachers? Why are some against abortions and homosexuality and some denominations for it? How do you know who is right, Bob? The Eucharist is the completion of the passover from the old testament. Jesus is the sacrificial, blemishless lamb of God who was sacrificed for our sins. Through this sacrifice the curse of death has passed over our door steps and by consuming the flesh of this lamb we have everlasting life.

@Alexander .. Try getting her a book from Dr. Scott Hahn or maybe Steve Ray..they converted from protestant backgrounds. Tim Staples is a concert.. I believe he was a Baptist..he wrote a book on the blessed mother..I think it's called "Behold your mother" I haven't read it yet, though it has great reviews. Good luck to you.

Thank you everyone for your advice, I have Tim Staple’s ‘How Jimmy Swaggert Made me a Catholic. But anytime I approach anything along those lines she thinks it’s an attack on her and she closes off. I think I just need to turn it over 100% to God and pray and trust. God bless you all!!!

Hi, I am not Catholic, but have great respect for the faith. If your wife lives the Lord , has His Holy Spirit within her, do not despair. Pray the Father to open her eyes. It all takes a long time to come to believe somethings. It took me 47 years to believe in transubstantiation. Look to the Holy Spirit to open her eyes.

The laughter you both bring is contagious. Love it! An eye opener for me is how the rosary is symbolic of Mary as the ark of the new covenant in leading us into battle as the original ark did. I am a Pre Vatican II cradle Catholic. I need this more than most I suppose. Everything I had learned about worshipping as a young boy was thrown away with the advent of Vatican II. In my late 30s, I returned to school and have an advanced degree from a Jesuit university in Pastoral Studies. I left feeling like someone had pulled apart their Father’s watch but had no clue how to reassemble it. The pages of scripture, once a complete Bible, were left spread across the floor of the classroom. Thank you Brant. Especially for the lifelong commitment you have made and the years of work you’ve done to help others understand the Faith.

@@DarkAngel-cj6sx I converted from the Protestant faith and at first, I had concerns about Mary being too central to the Catholic teaching. But then I had an experience where I felt Jesus saying to me that all that he had was mine, so therefore, his mother was mine, too. After that, I felt like I had been welcomed into Jesus' family and I could know and enjoy and love all the people he did, particularly Mary and St. Joseph.

If you're really interested in Catholic theology ask your questions on Catholic answers and then respond to them there. There are better apologist then I'll ever be but if all you want to do is degrade the church Jesus Christ started I am really not interested in talking to you anymore because no matter what I say you'll put it down. For instance it's a big deal to you about Catholics veneration of the Virgin Mary. There's a lot to be studied up on there and I can't begin to give you all the information but it is interesting to note that your Protestant fore father Martin Luther had deep veneration for the Virgin Mary and remember this is where your Sola scriptura Doctrine came from. Apparently he saw Catholic theology in Scripture as far as the Virgin Mary goes. Your non-denominational church is not evil but it certainly doesn't have everything Jesus Christ wanted of his church. Everyone talks and teach about Mary but nobody talks about Psalm 45 throu 17 it's about Jesus and Mary and it's absolutely beautiful

@@morelmaster Mary is in verses 10-17 in Ps. 45 (she is the Queen/Princess and Daughter of the Father) and God will make her blessed for all generations in verse 17 which corresponds to Luke 1:48 "all generations will call me blessed".

@@morelmaster actually that's the way early Christians esp the New Testament ones interpret scriptures even as regards to Jesus as the King and Messiah. That's why Jesus' coming was not anticipated and he had a lot of teachers of the law and experts of old testament scriptures contradict Him because they cant find verbatim or exact reference to Him in their scriptures except if the scriptures are interpreted in a "stretched" manner.
