I love the Luke setup because not only can you sympathize with him more you can’t see his plight of why he is siding with his great grandfather. Also did y’all catch Sally moving on from Poseidon with the umbrella? Great mirroring of the first episode, and setup to Paul. I need season two announcement yesterday!!! 🤗🥰 Everyone did a good job but kudos go to the golden trio of Walker, Leah and Aryan for carrying this show on their backs and holding their own. And they are only going to get better as the years go on. Especially Leah, protect her at all costs. I can’t wait to see what they do next. 🤗

This goddamn episode was amazing. I loved every single aspect of it. I hate Zeus so much but Lance was absolutely phenomenal in this role; the power, the control, the sheer presence that he had, I'm actually so sad that we'll no longer have him as Zeus (whoever replaces him will have very huge shoes to have). When he said 'Boy!' I was actually SO shook, I was like 'nuh uh Percy, I love you but you gotta stop talking swifTLY'. RIP Lance Reddick :( The way this show has set up scenes for future seasons is absolutely outstanding and has me so excited for whats coming next. I was expecting Luke's betrayal but this hit so much better and deeper to me, and my mind is totally going to the scenes in the last book that I'm dreading but so excited to see because I know the actors are gonna absolutely kill it!!! Leah's acting was a bit shaky in the 2nd episode but after ep3 she really blew me away in all the best ways. Walker was just outstanding from get go, he IS Percy Jackson. It's so funny how I automatically see these kids now when reading the books. It's gonna be so wild to watch the kids get even better. I need the next season like, next week.

It is nice that there's an easy excuse to replace him (gods can look however they want), but boy it's a shame we lost out on more of him as Zeus. You're right. The presence was impeccable. Even his voice just sounds like thunder.

Absolutely adored this episode. The Olympus made my jaw drop. Lance was incredible, it's so sad we won't get anymore Zeus from him 😞 RIP. Walker's performance was also stellar, he made me choked up. I also loved how they made Gabe turn himself into stone because he's a nosy moron, Sally turning him wouldn't make sense with milder version of him. I REALLY hope we get S2 I NEED IT NOW.

"Why are people ashamed of fanfiction?" Geeky fandom stigma. That kind of "well why don't you just write original stories" stigma. Assumption that all fanfiction is poorly written, smut, or poorly written smut. But like... there's so much good and fun fanfiction. There's one really well-known Marvel fic on ao3 that's just "I am Groot" for the entire thing (and it's rated Explicit, lol). There are excellent story rewrites and aus out there.

that makes me happy! as a book reader i knew all along so of course it seemed so obvious to me. i was curious if non-readers would realize. you should watch it back and see the clues they put throughout that it was luke. like for example when they tell luke they figured out who stole the bolt (during the hologram call in the truck to vegas) luke responds “how do you know?” not who is it.

Lance was phenomenal as Zeus, it's such a shame we won't get to see him again 😢 I know Disney loves their deepfakes (too much imo lol) but I hope they just recast and let this episode be Lance's legacy. He was perfect That whole Poseidon scene was fantastic honestly, all three of the actors gave incredible performances. Poseidon stepping in to save his son at the expense of his own pride was so powerful, as was the implication that he still loved Sally and wanted to step up for both her and Percy. It's one of those changes that I thought was better than what happened in the book. It justified the earlier changes like the four pearls and the conversation with Sally in the restaurant because it set him up to be a better person and better father than some of his relatives. Which made way more sense for Percy's character development because seeing his father be there for him gave him a stronger reason to side with the gods instead of Kronos. If Poseidon could rise above the bad history of their family, maybe others could too. It was such a smart writing decision imo Also, unrelated but if you guys haven't seen Fringe, Lance was an absolute powerhouse in that show and it's so worth the time/effort to watch and/or react to. If you go in completely blind the story has probably the wildest plot twists I've ever seen in a show, which would drive Shannon nuts for sure lmao but it's such a good series

I stared watching bc off the show and how obsessed I am with Percy Jackson, tbh I started watching anyones video who was talking about it, so I have discovered a lot of people like you guys through watching this show. 22:03 Annabeth didn't have braids in the books, she had natural blonde hair (she was white in the books) and Percy primarily described it having "princess curls". so yeah, no braids

@@Matthewvhaynes i didnt mean to imply you couldnt braid white hair. I just mentioned that she was naturally blonde, and that she was white. You were mentioning how she was described in the books so I had to clarify that in the books she was described as blonde. Also the braided fanart largely arose relatively recently after the casting was announced so peeps from the fandom made fanart based on leah jeffries so its no surprise that that may be the fanart you may have seen.

I like this better they fighting each other at the end (luke and percy) and percy basically won and then said sorry and then luke is shocked and furious and then attacked him again instead of a scorpion stung percy thats kinda lame on percy’s side.

Before the series was released it came out they were toning Gabe down because it had been triggering for children in an abusive situation. I personally like it because it shows more strength in Sally than the books. Since camp was an option but she'd rather have Percy in an abusive household if it meant he could stay with her.

Because Ares wasn't trying to kill him. Now, he was going to kill Percy but he was just playing with him and not taking it seriously. Which is why Percy won. But now it's personal for Ares, not just his love of fighting and war.
