Beautiful rose. I purchased this rose, yesterday. I hope to plant this rose in a large pot ( 90L ) 24" × 19". Please advise if this will work. I live in England. Many thanks.
@Meillandroses11 ай бұрын
It will work depending on the climat and your gardener skills, but there should be no problem in UK as it was selected both for Germany and USA (as well as for other places but unrelated to UK climatic conditions)

Is this suitable for the tropics? Our climate is 32-38C. Our summer is very hot
@Meillandroses Жыл бұрын
The problem of the heat is not the main problem for this variety in Sub tropical climate. It is the size of the plant. This variety was not selected for tropical climat. But please tell where exactly you are ?

@@Meillandroses I am Australia. (Australia zone 7 or USDA zone 12) How do I tell if a Meilland rose is suitable for our tropical weather? is there a website/list for this?
@Meillandroses Жыл бұрын
@@JustJamesDean usually our varieties are sold locally (rosarian or garden center) based on their abilities. If a Meilland variety is sold in the garden center near you, it means it should work. We are in Australia since the 60's. Our agency is Corporate Roses. You can check out their website but I doubt they say which Australian zone the variety will work.

@@Meillandroses The garden centres in our little town dont sell roses. I have to buy them from growers, 3000km away and the climate varies a lot. I am always looking for more plants, with BIG flowers. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you
@Meillandroses Жыл бұрын
@@JustJamesDean Well, if the local garden center don't sell roses, it means that they didn't find roses adapted to your climat. If you like big flowers and fragrance, the best should be 'Forget-Me-Not' and Francis Meilland even if they have a tendency to be big HT bushes in those climates ;)

How it behaves on total sun?
@Meillandroses9 ай бұрын
Hi, depends what is your climat... Total sun in UK is not total sun in the south of France... Our roses are selected in different climat and, unless you are in a semi desertic areas, full sun is always the way to go with roses ;)

In Guangxi, China, zone 9 can grow up to 2 meters high. Can you improve it and launch a garden version? Because it smells good very ,love this rose
@Meillandroses2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and feedback. Princesse Charlene De Monaco wasn't intended for Zone 9. It was mostly a northern Europ selection. This is why it grows so high in your place. Please cut back your plant low in order to contain it. The new Jean De La Fontaine is coming to China in October 2023, it is much more compact from our observations 😉👍

so is Princess Charlene de Monaco the name of the rose?
@Meillandroses Жыл бұрын
Yes Princesse Charlene de Monaco is the tradename of Meidysouk all over the world
@hermit20082012 Жыл бұрын
@@Meillandroses I didnt say is Princess Charlene de Monaco the tradename (or trademark) of the rose. Name and Tradename are 2 very different things The name can only be Meidysouk and The tradename can only be Princess Charlene de Monaco So Princess Charlene de Monaco is not the name of the rose. Do you understand that Trademarks are mere adjectives and can only identify the producer ie Meilland Variety names are nouns and are the only name for any rose Once a trademark becomes a noun you know its being generically misused eg PINK PUNKY TM has great perfume and PINK PUNKY TM grows well in full sun Another great way to spot misuse of a trademark is to remove it from what you are hearing or reading .......It still should make sense......think about it A trademark (adjective) should always be used in conjunction with the Variety name if used properly. Not on its own because its only an adjective To properly understand this please read the short article you can find on the internet titled TRADERS BEWARE by lawyer Tyone Berger
@Meillandroses Жыл бұрын
@@hermit20082012 We were not expecting such a theoretical discussion for a channel showing roses, and the fact that laws are national and not international, even if there is an international canvas by WIPO standards, make this discussion even more complex, but let's go ;) When you ask "the name of the rose", our assumption was that you were looking for a plant for your garden ;) this is why we answered you "Yes Princesse Charlene de Monaco is the tradename of Meidysouk all over the world" just in case you were doubting what is clearly written in the title of the video : "Princesse Charlène de Monaco®MEIdysouk" or you were expecting our trademark to be different in different places (which is pretty standard in our industry). So I hope our answer is clear now, the name of the rose is Princesse Charlène de Monaco®MEIdysouk. Meilland is not a producer of plants, neither in Europe or anywhere in the world, we are a breeder of new variety of roses, we are an editor of varieties bred by other breeders, we are markerting those varieties and we are licensing growers to grow and sell the plants in countries were we have IP rights. We are well aware of the limitation of registered trademarks and/or PBR, and the dangers of it becoming a generic name as we are using them since 1950. This is why we will defend through a legal process all misusage of our registered trademarks. Again, if you have questions related specifically to Australia, please contact directly our legal representative CORPORATE ROSES corporateroses.com.au/contact/ Cheers
@hermit20082012 Жыл бұрын
@@Meillandroses My comments are not theoretical..they are facts You say our answer is clear now ''the name of the rose is 'Princesse Charlene de MonacoR MEIdysouk Any lawyer anywhere in the world will tell you that a trademark has absolutely nothing to do with the name of a product. If so it is an invalid trademark. Any trademarks only purpose is to identify the producer and NOT the product itself Then you go on to say contact CORPORATE ROSES They are merely your agent It is your responsibility as trademark and PBR holders to police the proper use of your trademarks and PBR by your agents anywhere Im surprised you dont understand this
