No es tan así. Si bien es cierto que el fútbol evolucionó y los métodos de entrenamiento, etc., hicieron mejores atletas, los jugadores de aquella época no estaba tan lejos de los futbolistas de hoy día. Por citar un ejemplo, el delantero uruguayo Pedro Petrone corría los 100 metros en 11 segundos. El récord mundial en aquella época era de 10,6 segundos. Hoy día Mbappe corre esa distancia en poco menos que 10 segundos; por lo que la diferencia de velocidad entre Petrone y Mbapee es de un poco más de 1 segundo. Está claro que en 100 metros llanos 1 segundo es muchísimo, pero en fútbol no es tanto. Por otra parte en aquellos tiempos nacieron prácticamente todos los conceptos que se aplican en el fútbol de hoy.

@@jirisindelar4597 Footballers didnt have numbers back then. But he would have been a "10" as he wore that number once, for his Country Austria (as it started to be common to have numbers). Since the Nazis occupied Austria in 38, and we were Germany then, Sindelar always refused to play for Germany (Iam cery proud of that fact though), so he never wore a number again. His number would have been a "10" and his modern Position would have been a "False 9"
