Peter Buka is definitely a great inspiration to many pianists like myself throughout the world. I truly admire the way he arranges his piano covers. All his piano covers are nothing short of spectacular. I really like how you broke down all the elements / components that made his piano covers stand out from the rest - the octave jumps, the turns, the syncopated rhythms, etc. All these are commonly used and yet sometimes we don't think of using them. Thanks for breaking them down for us all. It really helps to give piano cover artists out there to spice up their piano covers.

Oh man, once you pointed out the turns, that's all I could hear! I agree that he doesn't need to make every song this HUGE performance. Pulling it back a bit would actually improve some of his pieces I think. I love the way you break things down. It takes a piece from being "holy shit, his fingers can do what?!" to "oh, okay I can pick out all the repeating patterns now." I approach listening to music differently now because of it ❤️

Peters way of playing is very rhythmic and has a smashing drive. I think this is what people like. He turns his piano into a prime percussion instrument and makes everything almost danceable. I als think a bit less would sometimes be better, but there are certain pieces that just suit his playing style extremely well (and others less).

Love to see a reaction to Gamazda . Always liked peters playing it seems so effortless . As my own piano playing slowly improves and i get more understanding It is quite eyeopening to learn that what i thought was impossible is not anymore and the tricks you see good players using you start to understand more.

Also since subscribing to your channel, KZbin has been suggesting some of your older video's and your format has improved a lot since your older stuf where there is no keyboard in front of you.

As a personal recommendation (if not a video idea, as it's REALLY niche), might you look at Japanese concert pianist "Pianeet"s piano cover of Akiba Pop - The Future? I've never seen such a level of difficulty/technicality in a piano cover, and at the same time it's played with professional musicality - the dynamic variety and control in it (even at the micro level) will be such a refresher after Peter Buka's effective but wearying percussiveness.

No idea what light strips he is using because there are dozens of makes and models on the market. Most of them are overpriced. If you are not afraid of DYI and already know or would like to learn a bit of electronics and programming, you can build your own light setup for a fraction of the price of the products on the market.

No doubt the guy has skills, his playing seems harsh on the ears though, like it needs an accompaniment to even the sounds out. Maybe that's just his style, not my cup of tea, I much preferred the sounds when Matt played the songs. To each their own I suppose 🙂 Edit: example of something I find easier on the ears, and a style that I prefer kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6DWqo1tod12lZosi=GX561tSLt-b1D6Xg

I never understood why he’s so popular. Hot take, but I think his playing fools the average listener. He’s not doing anything original and unique with his covers. But if he’s inspiring people to get into the piano, then that’s awesome and ultimately he’s a great influence.

Sincerely, it bores me after a couple songs. I like quite a lot more your way to play!. It is easier to pound the keys, sound impressive, but have no dynamics on it. Yes, he is a good player but, IMO, abuses of some patterns and almost no dynamics at all in most pieces (well, yes, f to fff 🤣)

Because that's the point of the video. He analyzes the pianist and pieces and deconstructs them in a digestible way. You just want someone to praise him all the time? Go watch someone who knows nothing about piano and music theory. You'll get what you want there, but not here. And he does praise him.
