It's been 5 years since I first heard Dimash sing this song. I became an instant fan, along with half the globe. So much fun to see others discovering our Prince. I do not remember if I told you this before, but here is a hint... NEVER react to Dimash on the American show.. "Worlds Best", We Boycott that show, because of the horrendous way Dimash was treated there. Besides, half of his performances are on the cutting room floor. I have enjoyed watching Dimash with you. Thank you for you kind comments about Dimash's performances.

This was my first exposure to Dimash. I've had to watch it nearly daily since, often multiple times daily. Rarely do I listen to other singers anymore. Dimash's performances simply speak to my heart and soul like no others do.

Yes it was a contest in China called "The Singer" in 2017, he's was 22 at the time. It's a competition for well established Chinese singers. Dimash was first foreigner invited; unknown to everyone there (a wild card contestant). His first song was "SOS" and the nation loved his performance. The Chinese version of Facebook had 600 million comments about him. The producers of the show had to hire bodyguards to protect him.

Yes, it was. It was 2017 in China at a tv show for singers competing with each other. His father and mother were both famous singers in Kazakhstan and Dimash grew up with music and performing.

That was the second song in the competition "The Singer 2017". This song belongs to the Russian vocal clown Vitas. The organizers of the competition asked Dimash to sing this "simple song”. However, they forgot to ask Vitas. The people who hold the rights sued Hunan TV... unfortunately too late. The Chinese had already put it online and so it is on the Internet forever...

FYI the girl trying to hit the high note is Sandy Lam, the winner of this competition. A wonderful singer. Dimash was runner up. So many great singers on this show - worth watching 🙏🇦🇺

It is a competition. Did you hear Dimash ask his father twice if he sung well. Dimash went higher 3 times, live, vitas the original singer only went higher once, he also cannot sing the chorus live, infact it’s well documented in Russia that vitas did not sing the chorus at all, he was unable to, someone else sung that part for him that’s why you can find rare videos of him singing the verse live but then miles the chorus. He also spat his dummy out and tried to sue Dimash for singing his song but eventually agreed that Dimash would never sing it again

Dimash was invited to the New Year and Spring Festival three times in a row, which are seen by up to 1 billion people. This song 'Jasmine' is sang every year at the Spring Festival Gala (considered the unofficial national anthem in China). It is a great honor to be asked to sing this song, especially as a foreigner. Dimash has received this award three times from 2018 to 2020. Of course, he sings this song differently every time. He’s back at I am Singer Competition.in China back in 2017. After awhile, Vitas the composer and singer of this song asked him not to sing it anymore. Dimash sang the song better and reached higher notes. You can find Vitas singing it on KZbin. 😊
