I am Japanese. When I was 14 years old, there was a collaboration commercial between Gatsby and A-HA that was frequently aired. I think there were about three different versions. I still do, but I liked A-HA and often played cover songs with my friends. I miss that.

My all time fave 80's band. When I was young it was all about Morten for obvious reasons but like most Virgo's Morten and Pal take themselves so seriously, even when they are being funny you have to be a fellow virgo to understand their dry witty sense of humour. It forces Mags (Scorpio ) to bring abit of lightness and comedy to the group.

I found out that the album of "Stay on These Roads" had sold much better in Japan than in U.S.A.. No wonder they came to Japan to promote their new album in 1988. Actually, their music have been more appealing to Japanese than Americans. On the other hand, Asians except for Japanese haven't been quite familiar with A-ha. As a Taiwanese, I didn't know any other songs of theirs except for "take on me" until I suddenly started to research their music in 2010 thanks to Tears for Fears, who came to Taiwan for a concert that year. We Asians seem to be more familiar with Tears for Fears due to influence from American pop culture

You know I honestly think that mags and Paul are more real and able to give more of themselves to the people in their lives then Morten harket guess who is a lot more self-centered don't get me wrong I like Morten harket he has a presence he is a great entertainer and has a beautiful voice.

He is also very specific with his answers and will answer exactly the question. One interviewer really annoyed him some years ago and he ended up saying, "Can I go now?" LOL

@@scandinordicJust happened to rediscover A-ha last winter;used know several ppl who knew at least one of them(Or all) so I probably could of met them earlier(Even my gran knew Paul and spoke to Mags.Only 8-9 in 85,Morten was just a few yrs younger than my father, sort of forgot about them as I had my own family & all.As of now, I'm back in Oslo and it would be so fun getting stuck in an elevator or so with both Magne,Paul & Morten(Individually tho'-;)it's easy to tell they're very different,suppose one need a certain ego to deal with showbiz for decades,still find all three of them to be somewhat fascinating,Mags,his arts🖌️,stage presence,plays the piano/Keyboards excellent🎹,has co-written some of their best songs📝,seems fun & still with his early girlfriend.Paul's the introvert,a musical genius🗒️🖊️,guess his Lauren is lucky,I think he's a one womans man.He hasn't got this urge to be the center of attention.He seems to be fine with his guitar🎸.I think both of them are constantly driven to make music-as a way to express themselves maybe.True artists.Morten has a great voice🎤(My voice is rather average)He sort of thinks/ talks at the same time,an Ex,LOL once told me"OMG sometimes you really do remind me of M.Harket...He's a musician himself & still remembers Morten from Highschool! I think Morten has this never-ending, almost child- like curiousity thing,probably a deep thinker too...Outgoing,goal- minded,a bit naive...,He wanted to accomplish certain things & so he did,I just have this feeling being seen as a sex symbol was both flattering & annoying to him,would like to know how it affected him in the long run.He wanted to talk about climate changes,serious issues happening to mother earth,the universe,meaning of life....🌍🌝Media wanted to talk about what soccer team he favored-or his bone structure..🙄The big picture⚽🤔🤭🤲🏼🦋🌺🦎Despice or Cherish them.As a matter of fact,Ironically,it took me yrs.to realize how iconic A-ha was,& still is at the end of yet another decade.And probably many more to come💯💄
