Wow dude! Matt, That was a seriously killer short film right there. So much to say……I’ll start by once again saying that your videography, editing & soundtrack selections were so on point. I felt like I was actually on the trip with you! The still shots in Monument Valley were epic, as well as all the drone footage you added. Simply spectacular! I’ve lived in Montana and Colorado out west and climbed mountains and seen what I thought was beauty, but I think you “Johnny One Bettered” me as my tour guide into Southern Utah and Arizona. You just can’t unsee that natural beauty of the area. I just kept getting images of the old west running through my head and the Pan Am was my Trusted Steed! Lol….The sunsets and everything was just breathtaking, man. Btw, wish we had an Eagle Rider here in the Midwest!!! Can’t find anywhere to rent a bike around here. Did you see any Rattlesnakes?? I’m petrified of snakes and undoubtedly, that would have been constantly a thought of mine. 😂 Great job to all the guys as well for just being genuine fellas and enjoying themselves. You really know how to make someone feel like their life suddenly isn’t what it should be. I mean that in a good way of course. 😂 great job! Can’t wait for the next one wherever that may be, but I know one thing, “it’ll almost always be better done on two wheels”! Peace bro, and can’t wait for my Tshirt to get here either! 🤜🤛

Seriously appreciate this comment Steven. I’m going to pin it. Your comment is exactly the message and vibe that I try to illustrate in my videos. No rattle snakes thank goodness. Haha. Hands down you have one of the best ride channels on YT. The production value and footage is documentary quality. You must have spent a pretty penny on camera, sound and other equipment. Fitting that you're in CA; your stuff is Hollywood worthy bro. Good on ya. My son took the grandkids to Universal Studios this week so I told them to stop by Laidlaws and pick me up a t-shirt. Doubt they did it tho...the ingrates! LOL. Peace.

Would be rather interested in the MPG on the KTM, the BMW 1250 and the Pan America, on trips like this. Highway 12 on that ridge would be a REALLY cool spot to pull out the DJI drone and get some good footage, next time. Your timing of the year with the Azure blue skys out there makes a huge difference in how that whole red rocked area videos. Low sun = great shots. Matt, your video's are proof that, chosen wisely, once you get out of CA and NV and into UT, AZ, CO, WY MT SD.... on vacation.... it's never about the DESTINATION, it's about the JOURNEY getting to and from there. I would DEFINITELY want tubeless rims for a trip like this on my bike, with a plug kit and a battery powered air pump. A punctured tire out there would be a huge bummer.
@MattLaidlaw
@MattLaidlaw 10 ай бұрын
Well said. The KTM was getting the best MPG at like 55. Depending on riding. We were really moving out on the highway. Pan Americas usually get me around 40 MPG. That's riding like a douche bag though.

Yeah Arizona and Utah are an absolute stunning gem! A deep dive series would be nice. Something like Bryce Canyon to Sedona and Prescott area! There is a very beautiful dirt road in the near of Prescott leading to an old gold mining mountain area which I've seen in a 4x4 video which you should check out when you are there I am pretty sure it was Crown King or Bradshaw City. There were actually quite some bikers in that town when I watched that video so it's actually a legit biking destination - so it's not just that you can only go there in a 4x4.

Thanks for showing a great ride 👍🏻👍🏻. We took a Heritage Softail out of that very same Eagle Riders shop in LA back in June and ride it to Chicago. You have such a beautiful country I can’t wait to go back and just ride around Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Back here in UK I have the 1250GS that you took on the trip. I’m almost tempted to hire one next time. Having said that the USA viewed through a Harley screen and soundtrack is something special to behold. Great work - sitting at Discovery Channel levels of inspiration. 🤓🤓👍🏻👍🏻

Ya'll need to do the Denali highway in Alaska on those bikes. It's 135 miles of 95% dirt road and panoramic views like you see in National Geographic magazine . I live in Alaska and it'sa true gem. The Denali highway is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. My husband and I camp there all the time. Ya'll stay safe and seriously think about the Denali highway as a once in a lifetime adventure in Alaska. Take care. Love your videos ❤️

Alaska is on the list. I’ll get there one day. It will most likely be on the Pan America.

And go up the Daulton all the way to Deadhorse! The pan America is made for that road. Some dude on Facebook was talking big about how he was going to take is $40,000 CVO up the Daulton and I’m like you’re just nuts to try that. If he is even able to make it, bike won’t be the same.

Absolutely stunning!! Seriously, not enough Americans appreciate how amazingly beautiful the country is!! I've been several times and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface... Get out there and enjoy it!! I can't wait to go back!!

You have to take 12 all the way up through Hanksville and up to I70. I live in Vegas and that’s one of my favorite loops to make.

I’ll have to try that one day. There’s a bunch up there that I could explore more.

When you guys return to this route, try taking UT 14 out of Cedar city, and taking the cut off 148 and 143 to see Cedar breaks. It’s every bit as scenic if not more so than UT 20 over to US 89.

Good to see you riding here in Utah. The section of US-12 at the 15:45 mark in your video, located between Panguitch and Bryce Canyon City, is known as Red Canyon. Spectacular scenery all along US-12. If you ever get back to Boulder Town, eat at the Hell's Backbone Grill. It's seriously one of the BEST eateries in the entire state of Utah.

Looks like a pretty epic trip. I was out that way mid-October doing Monument Valley, Moki Dugway, Valley of the Gods before hitting four corners and half of the COBDR. 20/20 hindsight, but Valley of the Gods has quite a bit of dispersed camping and is simply an amazing place to overnight.

Another great video. Awesome scenery, no rain and traffic free roads. Wonderful. I'd love to know how the Pan America compared to the GS 1250 on that trip.👍

Yea, it would have been cool to really iron out all the comparisons between the two bikes but it just wasn't in the planning for the scope of this video. Maybe one day I'll really do a fair comparison video. It's just hard because I have a built in bias and conflict of interest so no matter what I say people will always think I'm favoring the H-D.
