WWII Military looking bike, Yes! Gotta love the beefy, just plain coolness of this bike !!! Blacked out, but with the chrome accents, dull and polished, are pure goodness. Retro to the max. "100% to the Yes" on this model. "Then Came Bronson" 1969 TV series starring Michael Parks, should be remade today, with the character on one of these ! Michael rode a Sportster, drifting around the country in the episodes.

Well, Robert Patrick is the reason I switched from sport bikes to Harleys :)) Your reviews and Matt's solidified even more the thought, I finally picked up my 2020 Slim denim black. I can't get over the look of this bike. The most beautiful for sure! I'm 82nd Airborne veteran and this.......was definitely it! I sit in the garage at least an hour with a beer and admire all lines. hey Matt Great videos... I'm getting ready to buy my first Harley , I'm also 64 years old. I have got a lot of inspiration and confidence from viewing your videos. Not to mention the information I have gained, Thanks. If I was 20, I would relocate and beg you for a job, you look to be a great guy to work for. Which brings me to my question. I am trying to decide between the (2021) Slim or a (2021) Heritage. I'm a new rider in the sense I have not rode a motorcycle in years, but road and owned bikes in my younger years. I started with a Honda SL 175 a Yamaha 360 (What a POS) and a Honda 350 "road bike"(pretty much a POS). I'm 5ft 10in 160lbs, looking mainly to start off just riding around the area locally, not hitting the freeway right away ( I live in Douglas County Oregon). Eventually doing a weekender now and then out of town. What ever help you can offer I greatly appreciate.

The bike chooses you. Yes. I had shopped for several months trying to decide between a Sportster or a model like the Lowrider. As a severely short inseam individual at 5' and 26" inseam, fitment wasn't "easy" to say the least. Then, a friend decided to sell his 16 Slim S and I asked to see it. For that frame and my needs, it was THE bike. I'm now riding it with a LePera Solo Forward seat and good boots; the fitment is almost perfect. I may get pullback risers, but for the moment those are my only changes. 2016 Slim S - Olive Gold Denim...My first Harley.

Welcome to the Slim family Nick! 👊🏼 I always said That my first H-D would be a Black Deluxe but you’re 💯% right Nick the bike chooses you!!!! When I finally went too get my first Harley in December of 2015 I walked into the show room and the first thing I saw was the all blacked out 16 Slim S. It’s was love at first sight!! Lol I couldn’t stop looking at it. I end up purchasing the 16 FLSS that night. And still today I absolutely Love my FLSS. But I got admit I wasn’t familiar with the Bobber Style so now it looks pretty much like a mini Street Glide lol because I put on so many add-ons for comfort for riding two up. Of many HD bikes I have owned which is too many to count, the Slim was one of the nicest looking bike. But back when I owned it I always felt like I was too big for it. Ended up selling to my buddy back in 2013. He still owns it and loves it I am only 5'11" 230 lbs.

...love my '18...have never scrapped boards...complimented everytime i take it out...almost certainly named for slimmer rear tire, which with every other improvement, gives better/quicker handling...i have both 107 and 103, both stage 1's, the Slim runs a tick noisier/mech and physically rougher...the 103 (FLHXS), is smooth like a turbine, but does run noticeably hotter...

Gorgeous presentation that's fitting for this super clean & classic model. Well done! The lead in ride and brief wrap model's imaging was refreshing with its moody, mountainous atmosphere. The look-arounds were fantastic with wonderful image stability despite the pavement regulars & irregularities. -Certainly looks like you two helped yourselves to the showroom's clothing line just before throwing a leg over - especially with notice of Matt's immaculate slacks and the two pairs of apparently virgin rider's boots. Sigh! If only we could keep ourselves and our bikes showroom fresh.

I went on a group ride today with a few guys. One of them had this same bike and I fell in love with it. Normally I'm not that into modern Harley's, but there's something about this bike that drew me in. Now I want one. The only negative for me is the forward controls, just because I've never had a bike with forward controls so they feel a bit odd. I'm sure I'd get used to it though.

My 3rd favorite Harley-Davidson​, (Lowrider S, Roadglide in no order) I've ridden for decades and enjoy seeing a rear tire that isn't too wide, like we had years ago that trails correctly. There really isn't anything you can't do with a Soft Tail Slim customized any way you want.

I've really enjoyed my 2016 FLSS. I still get comments everywhere I go about how great it looks, and with the stage 3 kit performance upgrade, it's as fast as I ever need it to be. I absolutely love the bike and doubt I'll ever part with it, even though it does scrape boards, like friggin always lol. Love the look of this bike. Not a big fan of spoke wheels even though my Heritage has them. Love the look of them just hate cleaning them. The handlebars and headlight are awesome on this bike. Really hits all the right marks with the looks. Only thing I would have to change right away is the seat. OK for short trips, but not for longer rides. Usually I am riding long periods when I ride.

I always loved the Slim, except for minor changes I’d make....in my opinion I think that rear fender sits too high over the rear tire. I’d be inclined to lower the back 2” to bring that fender down over the rear tire. I’d prefer to exchange the running boards out for forward controls, and get rid of those Dunlops and put Metzlers on.

An excellent video (again) and a beautiful bike. Since you said the taillight was stock, I was surprised you did not comment on the apparent "turn signal delete" option! LOL. Not sure this will fly in many states! Maybe the owner should upgrade to a taillight w/integrated signals?? Also from your riding, I was wondering if the inner fairing painted Barracuda Silver was excessively reflective at the wrong times of day. I am thinking matt silver or black, "billiard" silver (which I know doesn't exist but would lack metallic flakes), or even vivid black would have been better?

That's a really beautiful bike, especially in Black Denim. I wish Harley Davidson offered it for all their models. I think the term "Slim" refers not to the skinny rear tire, but likely that it's a basic, bare-bones, minimalist bike. It's slimmed down. A beautiful basic, no-frills bike. Great video as well. ;)

Its always tough to say for us because Harley looks at national sales, while we are only familiar with regional stuff. For example, nationally the heritage sells more than the deluxe, but for us locally, the deluxe is the better seller. All that is to say that we don't really know how well the slim is doing, or if its doing well enough to get a second model designation. I would say its probably unlikely based on how many we sell of the slim. its a good bike to have around and it has a good following, but it doesnt sell as well as the Low Rider S, street bob, deluxe, or even probably the breakout. its maybe 5th to 7th in sales for us for softails.

@@TH3G0ODGUY Thanks for sharing! I think it is a bit unfortunate that the Street Bob outsells the Slim after moving onto the same frame. People are missing out for the same reasons Harley riders often ultimately upgrade to bikes that offer more riding comfort. The Slim is clearly the better choice just based on the bigger tank, speedo and floorboards once you start wanting to day trip and put some miles on it. Who wants to go from stop light to stop light in LA? Put some apes on a Slim and you've got a much more versatile yet similar styled bike for not that much more. If I had to make a guess as to why: the Street Bob - a former Dyna - doesn't carry the unjustified "girls bike" or Softail stigma, it's $1000 lower entry point and lastly a lack of saddle time on both. Admittedly, a Street Bob was the first clear choice Harley I ever rode as a rental based on what I pictured a classic Harley should be. To anyone on the fence, I can only recommend to rent both and ride a couple weekends out before you buy. It's well worth it.

@@TH3G0ODGUY Adding to my other reply: I think it's a great that an experienced Harley owner and rider like you deliberately chose a Slim and is getting the word out about it. This bike deserves a closer look in a group with the Deluxe, Street Bob and now the Standard and it would be a shame if they were to cut it from the Softail lineup due to lackluster sales.

good video and good description. but to be honest, I don't see any change in the previous models, they only remove and put accessories, they bring the same emblem, they change the exhaust, they don't offer something more striking something that year after year makes you have to buy the new model. Donovan Lewis well they are trying to enter new markets. But it’s to little to late imo. The street series could’ve been great but they priced them way to high. The new Bronx looks cool but the price will be insane and it won’t outperform the metric bikes. I will say though if Harley goes under it will have a huge effect on the industry.
