It’s great to see that you wrap your horses legs. Wrapping your horses legs is one of the most important things that a person can do for their horse. When wrapping your horses legs, you should always wrap in the direction that Matt is wrapping, pulling the horses tendon to the inside, thus helping to prevent a bowed tendon. Horses are like people, if you do something n get hurt, your not going to want to do it again. Horses are the same way. If their legs aren’t protected n they get hurt, they are not going to want to do it again n if they have to do the thing that caused them to get hurt, then they are not going to try their best, n they will not put their heart n soul into it.

Polo wraps! Thank you for showing people how to use them properly. So many people don't use them anymore, they just put boots on, but you just showed what a benefit they are with boots. I grew up in northern Virginia, had my own horses, but also galloped at the track and did a stint as a show barn groom. Both places it was polos all around every day. You nailed it too they are cheaper lol.

Matt Mills even has a way of wrapping POLO wraps (something you've seen done a million times online) different than anyone else on earth. Hahah, seasoned equestrian here and this is my first time seeing that point of knee wrap. Learn something every time here.

Hi again MATT More valuable info especially for the less experienced. Wraps and boots can save legs vet bills and possibly the horse too! Not for a cool look as some think but a real and important preventative purpose. Thx as always for sharing. You have a wonderful teaching ability. Hoping the weather hasn't hit you and the horses too badly...

Learned a lot. Was curious about the knee and skid boots, how to apply, etc. Since I have never reined, I did not know the in and outs of those two. Also polo wrap techniques great to learn. Thanks very much 〽️〽️. ❣️🍀

Exactly the trainer who taught me had me dedicate a half hour a day for a week of just putting polos on and off. I'm pretty sure the next barn that hired me was based solely on the fact that I could correctly apply polos 😂

I love the first way of wrapping, I usually do the second tho. Have steered away from bandaging my dressage horses as it gets hot here in west Australia, and I find it tends to overheat the tendons. Do you find that as well? So have reverted to boots. When winter hits, back to bandages, 😊

@mattmillsreining13 жыл бұрын
Yes sir. When they slide stop those tails get pretty dirty.

In addition, it helps avoid pulling strands (or large amounts) of hair out which might sour them from backing nicely
