He put a couple disclaimers in the video when he did do that and while I agree, he was cautious with how he did it and would have been able to move back over if he saw anyone. There’s plenty of spots with tons of visibility where crossing the double yellow is safe but it’s definitely better to avoid it.

@@josephsamsor1698 I agree. There are times it's acceptable to cross safely and there are not. If you're unsure, slow down. The camera is also deceiving and it's easy to arm chair here. But I am also that guy coming around the corner at speed

@@utbigpapa Yeah, I know that road really well, and I only crossed over when I could see well out in front. When I crossed, I slowed down quite a bit. I was trying to avoid panic due to the drop off on my right.

@@ObsessedGarage yep, completely understand. The camera lens makes it deceiving on video. I can't imagine you of all people are running around blind corners on those roads as wide open as they are. The dragon would be a different story. I appreciate the engagement here and also appreciate you have no need to justify to me or anyone else

Ive just driven my car for the first time in 3 months due to a hearing / stress condition called Hypercusis that causes my hearing to go too loud when stressed which results in anxiety. Its easing now and I can relate to your joy of being able to drive your car again.

Your camera did a great job of capturing the curves! You're right, there's both a visual and a physical rhythm to the turns that you can begin to anticipate. Imagine riding THAT on a motorcycle where every left hand turn you're risking running wide and going off a cliff! We riders also have to worry about rocks, dirt or moisture on the road that might cause a tire to break traction. Very cool.

Love the content. My only experience with this was picking up my 991.1 C2S in North Carolina and driving it home via Tail of the Dragon. Amazing roads, just amazing. But I was hating the fact that the car was in second the whole time. I found myself shifting to 3rd just because, and shifting right back. Porsche gearing really sucks. But man oh man, the roads are so fun and it's so beautiful there. I completely understand how you feel and glad you got yourself well enough to enjoy!

Some ass hat cut through a fiber line and a power line like a mile from my house and that killed me going on the OG trip as my home had no power and or services. I heard it rained a good bit anyway, but I still wish I would have been there. Oh well, next time

Nice! Our group of about x10 p cars was out there and we actually passed you when you were parked at the gas station on Friday. I also brought out my 718 GT4 (gentian blue) and the roads were an absolute blast. I actually prefer these roads to the SoCal canyons where I used to live.

That is where I belong and am lucky to live in the central coastal hills of California, despite all the whacko's. I do miss my 911's though even though I could not connect with the 991 C2S, which I sold. Struggling to figure out what to buy next, another P car, or make the jump to an "I" car...

You say you struggle with driving, and I believe you, but it is hard for the rest of us to see based solely on the way you drive in the mountains. I have no issues driving, but I can't see myself driving in the mountains the way that you do...and there is no chance I could keep up. That said the best driving vehicle I've ever experienced is an E70 X5 (which isn't saying much), so I may feel differently in a much more capable car like a Porsche. Bottom line, you've got this and I don't think you have anything to fear when driving. Side note...the GT4 sounds great, but it makes me miss hearing the GT3 RS.

I own the car, and modify every car I've ever owned. I wouldn't touch the gearing. It makes no sense why you would need to do that. That's why there is a clutch and gear shift. You simply shift when you need to shift. It's great just the way it is. I just ripped around the mountains for a week. What's the difference in being in 2nd and 3rd gear or 3rd and 4th in a different car?

Just my opinion, but I really enjoy paddles in that area. Our cars rarely need third, and it's usually just for a moment. So instantly switching between 2nd and 3rd, imo, is just so fun with paddles. You'e owned both right? What are your thoughts?
