I think it's because Matt and Tommy are perceived as 'fans' rather than 'media.' These guys are getting the same dozen questions 10 times a day and everyone's trying to trick them into giving them that week's soundbite. P1 isn't out to do that, and I'm sure they can tell and get more comfortable.

Something I remember vividly is during the driver parade for the 2017 Hungarian GP, my father, brother and I were sit at the end of the main straight. My father had a sombrero Charro (the stereotypical mexican hat), and my brother and I had a luchador mask each, plus we had a very big mexican flag and a sign, because we wanted Checo to notice us. For that race driver's parade, they had one of those big buses where all the drivers are at the same time, not individual cars, and Checo was having a conversation with Sainz, giving his back to the grand stand. Carlos saw us and started to point at us so Checo would turn his back, and he seemed like really worried that he would miss us, but Checo wouldn't turn, and Sainz looked at us like "I tried, I'm sorry". I don't blame Checo for that, since I guess he didn't expect to see mexicans there, but it was so nice from Carlos to try to make him look, it seemed like to him it mattered a huge deal. And listening to him explaining how important it is for him to greet people at the track, makes the experience better for me.

Carlos should seriously consider when he retires working as a directive in F1. Everytime I hear him speak about the sport he's always spot on. He’s very intelligent and analytical. This guy could manage a team into success. He's also very fun and chill. No wonder Audi wants him. Great job guys!

Also how cool he talks about giving a little extra for fans spending a good amount of their earnings to go see the race and want to see you. Everyone pays lip service and I’m sure in many cases It’s legit but you can definitely tell some people have become pretty detached from the fans, understandable given their wealth and world but seems like Carlos truly appreciates and hasn’t lost touch.

The brand Max Verstappen is difficult to get. In the beginning (2017/2018) you had to pay x thousands of euros for an interview (had an friend working as journalist who gave me this information).

Love his friendship with Lando and his time in McLaren. I think he was the happiest there. Absolutely love him! *** As a true F1 fan, I’m confident that I speak for 100% of all true fans, I wish they never added the Miami track - americans always have to ‘bastardize’ everything… the drivers need the time before the race with their teams & not be paraded on a stage with fireworks like they’re celebrities. They are high caliber athletes & at every other location (I’ve been to all around the world ) the races have a bit of class. It’s not a performance by celebrities, it’s a love for the sport by us the fans who watch these incredible drivers and their teams at work.

I was and still am a great fan of his father. Had the honour of meeting him and his navigator once at the Portuguese rally. It was only for a moment but he was super nice to me, a kid who was a nobody (just lucky enough that my stepfather organized the opening stage of the rally). And now, I'm surely becoming a fan of Carlos. He was great at Maclaren and I hope he gets to fulfil his potential at Ferrari. Would love to see him at Audi!
