@@geetarman thats what im saying tho, the problem with the memory foam is that you "sink" and thats the reason it feels like youre on the floor. That happened to me as well, especially cause i had a wooden pallet base under it, so it hurt after 2 weeks. Thats why im saying the hybrid and firm matress doesnt have that problem cause it has coils inside, those dont sink or leave a "hole"...it actually supports you better.

After sleeping in spring bed for at least 20 years, I wanted to give memory foam a try since this era hype it up so much as it give you modern sleep. I choice the expensive 12 inch cool gel infuse copper memory foam and I suffer for a year sleeping in it until I give up and go back to spring bed. Some of the bad things about memory that I hate for a 150 lb person is: 1. No support in the bottom so you feel like sinking into the mattress 2. Back pain every day in which leave no pleasure in sleeping due to your bottom is heavier than your top so your spine is bent in a downward position everyday and leaves pain in your back once you get up in the morning 3. It gets hot and musky and it doesn’t help when you try to change your body position especially when the bed made a snow angle shape out of you and when you change the shape, it try to fight back in which leave you discomfort 4. It hard to get up every morning due to your body get sink into your bed for 8+ hours straight that you feel like you been wrap into a caccoon and your trying to break out of the shell by wasting half of your energy of the day getting out of the bed 5. One of the thing I like about my old spring bed is that I can sit and lie in my bed for hours and be on my phone or watch a movie on the TV, memory foam DOES NOT DO THAT. The more hours you sit in your bed, the more discomfort you get due to your whole body sinking into the bed and when you try to lay down to sleep, you CANT because you have a giant ass hole in the middle in which leave a lot of discomfort in lying down and sitting on the bed easily. At least spring bed, it keeps its form no matter if your sit & laydown afterward 6. Sometime if you sleep wrong, your body left paralyze on one side due to all the pressure your body try to keep its form while you sleep and every morning, you wake up with sharping needle in your body 7. Nothing comes good in getting a memory foam mattress, whoever invented it and claim to be the best modern mattress you can sleep is a lie and not worth the money 8. After you purchase the mattress, when it is delivered to you. It will be tightly wrap in a plastic like a rolling mat. After open it, it takes 30 days so it to get a bit harden to sleep. If you sleep in the mattress before 30 days of opening, your in a whole of back pain So after you read all this, please consider getting a spring mattress . It will save you the suffering that I endure in my journey.

I agree with you 100% Been sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic Prima Teal Mattress (queen size) coming up on 4 years next month and I hate it. Which is unfortunate because it currently retails for $3500 CAD so you'd think it would be more durable. For reference, I am only 5'10" 150lbs and would consider that on the smaller side of average. I sleep on my side and wake up every morning with extreme lower back pain, sometimes hip pain, and sometimes one arm will be completely numb. I'm now watching as many videos as I can to compare traditional coil vs pocket coil and I am hearing some people say pocket coils are trash but the salespeople say pocket coils are best.... 🤔 When sitting in my bed at night I will sink into the memory foam pretty deep, not sure how my small frame and body weight can sink this much, can't imagine how a 200lbs+ person would fair on this mattress or even a couple. And for reference my mattress base is solid wood, 3" slats with 1" gaps so it is incredibly stout as far as structural support. The search for a new coiled mattress starts now.

I bought a Casper foam mattress, and while it's overall pretty firm, I've noticed that my hips sink deeper into the mattress than the rest of my torso. Through the night, I can feel my spine bending as my hips sink deeper into the mattress. Every morning, I'm now waking up feeling like my spine has been unnaturally bent upwards, leaving me with intense lower and middle back pain. I know these mattresses have a break in/ adjustment period, but I've had it for about a month now and I can't see how this issue will improve at all. This is one of the best vidoes on mattresses I've come accross. Straight to the point, only straight up facts and very simple and well explained. I've been looking for a mattress for a while. Everyone always says get foam but I wasn't able to afford one at the time so I got a mattress with a very thick pillow top. I kept waking up and wasn't able to sleep for hours because of the heat I assumed it was because of tempsture of my room until I stood up. I was suddenly much much cooler. I started reading about hot and cold sleepers. how thick pillow tops trap heat and the best beds for hot sleepers and again I was brought to expensive foam mattresses I thought a foam mattress would fix all of my problems with hot sleeping until now. This video has helped me learn that foam mattress aren't the best for everyone and expecically not hot sleepers thanks so much for making this video it really helped!

[11/09/2021] A word of warning: many foam mattresses will settle and compress over time, therefore losing loft, and "springiness", vs coil spring, or continuous coil mattresses; which mechanically tend to be more robust and durable. So you may be replacing a foam mattress sooner than a spring mattress.

after bad experience lately while searching for a new mattress i came to these conclusions: 1) visco foam mattress are the worst cause they get hot like an oven in hot humid summer nights and the heat makes me wake up. 2) a too firm mattress gives me pains in my waist which makes me wake up every 2 hours in the middle of dreams. 3) a matteress with "health center"(the center of the mattress being more supportive then its edges like Sealy posturpedic) gave me pains in the top part of my back. 4) a too soft matteress that sink gives back pains. MY CONCLUSION IS: the best mattress for me is the simple good old coil mattress(not pocket coils) not too soft and not too firm WITHOUT visco foam, and just polyurethane-its not hot and it doesnt give me any kind of pain,it does have some pressure on the shoulders but it doesnt bother me much like the cons above

Some tips for acid reflex people, side sleepers and people with body pains. I have a 14" memory form. I cut and spray glued some cheep foam to form a wedge to put under the mattress, not sure if you could do this with a spring mattress. This wedge props up the mattress at the wall (since I have no headboard) an extra 15"+/- which allows me to sleep at an incline. This incline forms a gap at the wall which I put pillows in. I then slide up the mattress and put my arm into the gap which relieve my shoulder pain and helps keep me from sliding down the mattress since it's at an incline. If you have hip pain and are a side sleeper and cant do anything else you could cut out some foam so your hip is in the hole, this was tricky to do but did work for me when I had pain from my cholesterol med (I changed meds and have no hip pain now). You could buy a 4" foam to cut the hole in and put it on top of your bed but you might have to buy deeper pocket sheets to fit over both mattresses, a nice 10" mattress and a cheap 4" would be a good match and most sheets would fit? I'm surprised they don't make a memory foam mattresses with removable sections for side sleepers to relieve pressure from body pains.

I called a local Sleepy’s and they don’t have spring Matt’s anymore. I’m already hot at night when it’s 68 degrees. I don’t even own a blanket. It’s a good information video. I’d like to know why a real box spring (has springs) and a coil spring mattress cost less than these memory foams do. I’d think a lot more work goes into a bed & box with coils then a piece of 4” Foam. I’ve been looking and I don’t even get a frame with that $1200. Some of the frames that come with 3-4” of foam remind me of the old box (no springs) with wooden slats and a cardboard top that came with the really cheap mattresses back in the 70s. I haven’t actually been to any stores. I could be looking in all the wrong places online. Thankfully I don’t need a mattress right now but my back would tell you he does. I like some of the comments as much as the video because I’m a side sleeper and I toss & turn and my low back feels it. I get up 4 times a night. It’s a 20 yr mattress but it did give me 10 good yrs.

Which one of these mattresses am I going to get a good night rest in

I have a memory foam and I just can't sleep at all yes it does feel great when buying it for the first time but after 3- 4 months later that sinking hole in the bed starts to take a role, not to mention the bigger the bed the much more HEAVY it is an oh boy California king is heavy.. So for a new year for 2021 I'm switching back to inner spring not to mention but wow the price for the bed is so much more cheaper instead of paying $1,200 for a memory foam.. I'm now only paying $350 for a inner spring just can't wait for it to show up now..

Hybrids! Memory Foam Top and Inner Spring at the Bottom. Support and comfort all in one. 💤🛏️😴

I feel like the most important thing when sleeping is feeling less back and neck pain and falling asleep at night. Last bed I bought was a pillowtop plush bed and it wasn't very good mattress causing back and neck pain. Trying to decide if buying the loom and leaf relaxed firm or saatva luxury firm would be a better choice for pain at night.

I hear you giving recommendations about so many mattresses, is hard to keep up. I've heard you recommending the Saatva, and Purple, and a few others for the same type of person. I am 220 lbs, side/back sleeper combo, some lower back problems, prefer to sleep on top rather than sink into the mattress, need a mattress that will last at least 10 yrs, with side support (rather than sinking when sitting on the side of the bed). What would you recommend?

Which mattress weighs the less, for a twin? As i am older & it's hard for me to even change the sheets
@Mattressclarity Жыл бұрын
Good question. A memory foam mattress is probably lighter than a hybrid due to the weight of the metal coils in the hybrid mattresses.

Im overweight and used to the spring mattress but the mattress is sunken in and want to get the memory foam cause of no springs. My springs hurt my lower back cause they are coming through my back. The bed is over 10 years old.

I'm an Aussie. 5"5 and 275 pounds. Emma comfort premium hybrid is not working for me. It gives me pins and needles especially with side sleeping. Hubby loves it 6"2 209 pounds. I am returning it for a plush inner spring

I feel smothered and held down with Memory Foam like I can't move my body at all. I also don't like that there's no bounce to memory foam. It is kinda hard to find an innerspring mattress with no memory foam for a good price on a budget. Any suggestions?

Is the bed/base on which the mattress is placed, also a factor worth consideration ? What is the reason for different thicknesses of mattresses ? Is it related to comfort or mere preference of height ?

I experience numbness on my arms, shoulders, back, rear and legs on whichever side I lay on. With my current 8 inch foam mattress I just sink almost down to the wooden base. Any area of my body I lay on with any pressure goes partly numb from sinking into the mattress. What kind of spring or hybrid mattress offers the best support to prevent sinking too far, but is still soft enough to not add more pressure causing numbness? What other suggestions do you have for finding a mattress supportive enough but not too firm?

To be honest you can have both, and use best natural material on top with good air-flow materials to counter memory foam disadvantages. Also this video is kind of old, pocket resorts solve some of the issues they have, like noise and transfer of movement.

My wife bought a memory foam mattress. I have been doing my best to sleep on it. She loves it, I can't stand it! It is like trying to sleep on a rock. It is not soft at all. She had to add 2 mattress covers in order for me to even attempt to sleep on it. I still sleep on the edge of the mattress with a pillow under my body. I hate this thing so much. Don't get one!

For me I went from a memory foam to a innerspring with a little bit memory foam. After that I really wanted a memory foam because it was medium firm but still softer than the inner spring. I’m a stomach sleeper but the innerspring is still to hard
