It’s amazing the creativeness of people in the United States. It really is that door caddy. If you’re setting some 8 foot doors that are solid core that would be a game changer. It really would and what an absolute amazing product.

Do y'all intend to look at the Lok-N-Blok cement stone substitute construction building material at some point? Basically engineered blocks made from polypropylene that interlock together that would replace cement blocks in essentially every situation where you'd normally use cement blocks. Much faster insulation, totally weatherproof, lighter, and apparently they are so strong that during their seismic qualification tests they actually broke the test bed before without failing themselves. Also only marginally more expensive than traditional cement blocks. Belinda Carr did videos both on the product itself and interviewed the inventor who has apparently been working on this off and on since the 1990s.

There’s a place in heaven for whoever designed can light fixtures that are serviceable after being dry walled into place.

Most recessed spot light fixtures in the UK are fitted after drywall installed. A hole us cut into the drywall after its hung, the cable fished down and the fitting holds itself in place with spring legs that push against the back of the drywall and can easily be removed. I've often thought US fittings look overly robust.

PVC will fail in sunlight if it is not properly rated for the usage. I’ve seen pvc conduit (electrical) hanging in hyperbolic arcs between supports because it has lost structural integrity. It can also become very brittle.

PVC FOR ELECTRICAL MUST ON THE CONDUIT SAY SUNLIGHT RESISTANT or it will wave when exposed to light.

Looks like American toilets are starting to be in line with Australian toilets. Due to our water restrictions, we have had low water volume toilets for a long time. We also have a dual flush function on all toilets - small flush for No1's and large flush for No2s...

I use washers that I can stack. Walls aren’t always flat so I can subtract or add washers to secure the lag bolt onto the ledger

Aquor should make a brick retrofit spigot, the mounting screws are too close to the center hole for straight brick mounting applications.

Hi Matt, I would like to see you review the "SABS" (Saied Architectural Building System). It is a foam system that looks great for DIY situations. It has a proprietary grout that makes the entire house structural.

The Nautilus LED Flushmount by Andrea Tosetto for LODES is a hinged, flushmount downlight that can also be a wall washer. So much better than a recessed ceiling light.

Hi matt, when I need to find this DMF lighting company someday for my personal project, all I will be able to remember is that I saw it on your video; I likely won't remember the name without seeing it. Would be great to have a part of your site where I can search for "lighting" and see a list of your video, and when in the video, a company like this was talked about. Our electrician made a recommendation to use 1/4" hex drive screws rather than the Phillips head for installation of the can lites. We use spec these fixtures in our homes. Nothing better.

So, the thing you have to watch out for on these things is whether or not they have a vented outlet to the outside. If not, then it's basically just an enhanced condenser style of dryer, and it still won't dry anywhere close to as fast as a vented American style dryer.

H series is effectively vaporware-they basically only market it to very large builders Multistory/multi family construction. So why are they even presenting it on a channel like build show?? really excited to see this coming out. Planning to use this washer/dryer in the Build Show Boston house. Still putting a vent line into the ceiling that could be connected to the outside if ever needed in the future. Another point for this new combo unit is that it has a very large capacity, unlike so many of the heat pump dryer only units.

The American toilets are just weird to me, a a European. Our toilets (and I think Australia is the same) have 4 inch wide pipes in the bottom and way less water. Zero risk of dunking your uh privates into water, the water is way down there from where you sit. Nobody has a plunger by their toilet here, because toilets just don't clog. Unless you dump something truly heroic I suppose. But I've done some pretty heinous deliveries myself and gone a bit overboard with toilet tissue too and never had a clog - occasionally, the water level has risen alarmingly before the weight of the water just forces everything out. The only downside is that these do need a toilet brush nearby to deal with stains, and I suppose you get more odor since there's no ocean of water down there for poo to get immersed int.... I'll take that over having to have a plunger and routine clogging, eww.

Ummm. PVC definitely goes bad from UV exposure, even if you paint it. It becomes super brittle after about 10yrs, which isn’t a long life by any means.

It's not just about getting the poopy down the toilet, you also want it to flow down the drains well and more water helps that. And a better toilet gives false confidence to women flushing feminine products which looks like spaghetti on a camera inspection.

Matt, "you're never going to see PVC go bad from sun exposure", really? Surely you know better. Sunlight, specifically the UV band, does degrade pvc. Now the product you are talking about here probably has carbon black in it, which protects the PVC from UV degradation.

Actually we are both wrong, Matt. The Parma-Boot is made from TPO, Thermoplastic polyolefin, not PVC. I just called them because I think I will soon use their products.
