Dear, Matt, just wish to tell, that your storytelling and vide recording and photographs are by far one of the best wildlife video footage I have so far enjoyed on KZbin! Also your way of commenting all along your walks and sights of animals are delightful and interesting and you are making me as viewer to be right there with you! Also your choice of beautiful guitar music is making your video even more excellent! Thank you so very much to taking us with you to this remote place where the wolves and bears living side by side! Very exciting video in every way! Please stay blessed! All the best wishes from Sweden! 💯🙏👍👌❣

Hey Matt. I just found your Chanel because this video got recommended to me. Usually the only Wildlife Photographer I watch is Morten Hillmer. But I have to admit, those to videos of yours were amazing. Providing information, entertainment and some exciting encounters. Thank you for this video. I immediately subscribed and I’m looking forward to see more of your videos. And lastly, it’s a shame that you had the feeling for apologizing for the harsh light and therefore “bad photos”. Like you said, it’s wildlife. You don’t seem to disturb the animals to get good photos. That’s a what it is all about. Enjoying nature as it is, take care of your surroundings. Thanks again for those wonderful two videos!

Great video Matt both parts 1&2 are my favourite so far this year you produced, your story telling and blending are top notch, very enjoyable ,your wild island choice was epic and produced the results and more I'd guess and hope you keep it private away from you tubers to prevent any careless individuals from going there, there is no shortage of stupid people nowadays or those who feel privileged thinking they do not have answer to anyone, these spots need to remain off limits ,keep them pristine, fantastic video, you guys had fun even if it rained heavily the first day 👍

Another outstanding video Matt, I think the 2 part videos that you did on the Coastal Wolves is the best that you have done and are a couple of the best that I have seen on KZbin. I would also love to see a video on how you video and your video setting that you use and also some editing tips and the software that you use for your videos. I am forwarding your videos to another photographer that I follow because you and him are so much alike, you are both excellent photographers and video producers but what stands out most to me is that you are both so concerned about the ethics of photography and and the protection of our environment and our wildlife. His name is Jimmy Breitenstein and has lots of videos on KZbin. He is currently posting his recent Grizzly Bear trip to the tundra in Alaska. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to the post on video settings.

I think your storytelling is amazing. Your voice is very calming. You make this look easy, but anyone who has tried it knows differently. I am looking forward to your 'how to' video. I am starting to try video and just got back from an elk outing. I was also switching back and forth between video and photo. Not as easy as it sounds. Seems I was always in the wrong mode. I may need to invest in a video head.

Great video! I love that region of the world. I couldn't help but notice that the wolf that checked out your cameras definitely had a subtle facial deformity, on the his right side of his face. I wonder whether something like that could be congenital, or perhaps the result of an injury?

Matt, you recently commented how some of your Workshop attendees with Z9s had difficulty when using the AF mode/subject detect for Birds. I capture Hummingbirds in dense garden vegetation and I keep thinking that I'm cheating. I always tell my wife that If she, or I can't get it to work with the current level of the camera, it's user error.

It's probably just me, but natural light the way things actually are look more natural than some post editing to make it look perfect. I think a lot of "just for fun" photographers have given up because their photos don't look like the ones they see in magazines or on the walls of photo galleries.

@@MattShannonPhoto Amazing footage Matt! I'm curious if you are using the Z9 for the video footage or a different camera? I personally use a Sony FS5 video camera body with various lenses. I shoot my stills with a Z8 which is very similar to the Z9. I'm considering a Z9 due to the GPS and the extended battery life. However, I've had some over heating issues with my Z8 shooting video in Bella Coola a few weeks ago, so I'm not confident that it's a good choice, hence my question about what you are using for the video component. Anyhow, thanks again for the adventure Matt. It was compelling and I have emailed you some questions. Edit: I had paused the last two minutes of your video to write the above, and then went back to watch the last two minutes, only to discover that you answered my question about what camera body you are using for the video components. That will teach me for getting ahead of myself! 🥴

Hi Matt, just found your KZbin and subscribed. Great videos and website. I see you have used ProGrade cards … any issues with them? I am slowly converting my F gear to Z and shoot Z9 with the 3 2.8 zooms, Z 100-400, TCs, and Z 800mm … and I have been trying different cards - I had an Angelbird card fail and returned them but was looking at trying the ProGrade 3400MB/s. If you had any feedback it would be appreciated. Thank you.
