Matt: I’m with you as it relates to fishing in WI in winter. Can’t wait for Spring to come and get on open water again. Ice fishing doesn’t agree with my old bones and I have the most fun casting a lure along weed edges. It’s time to get ready for next season by organizing tackle and cleaning equipment. Listen Matt it's 53 degrees here in Missouri. Hope in your truck come on down to Missouri and you can show me how to fish Stockton lake it's about 7 miles from my house. Just kidding bud. Thanks for the video I'm going to get myself some new rod's and I want to have a jig on one heavy action rod and plastic on another one. Thanks for the great info unfortunately I have to go get back surgery and hip surgery so I'm not going to be back to fishing probably until next fall. Thanx Matt. I am of the same school when it comes to jigs. I do all my jigging in cold water. It seems like where I live they pick up the jig during the warmer months.

It’s been crazy warm in Texas. I’m still getting figs and my honeybees are flying 99% of the days. I’m very close to Oklahoma (Ray Roberts) and still getting figs after Christmas is unheard of here. I’ve never seen this happen before and lived in this same county for 62 years. Next summer I’ll be wishing I was your state because I live here without AC.

The maxscent creature hawg has been by far my favorite prespawn/cold water flipping bait the last 3 years. I’m convinced that scent makes a huge difference.

Great info about the low water. Im lucky that we have above freezing here, but it might ice up tomorrow and stay that way until may. xD One never really knows this days. Every year I'm telling myself that I need to start punching but for some reason there I am with a frog in my hand. But had great fun this summer with ozark and a westin crecraw (ripped the claws in half or all the way off to get a faster fall to get under the current) around laydowns.

I flip almost exclusively with a jig and catch at least half the fish I weigh in at tournaments on a jig. You will always catch a better average size on a jig
