I've built a few cool things myself. I like your build, I think it is neat. I hope you are having fun using it too. I find that 99.7% of the places I want to go are perfectly accessible by almost any vehicle. :) Keep it up man, its all about the fun.

CO2 Levels - Another thing your window vent covers do is help manage the CO2 levels in your car. If you can keep your CO2 levels low in your vehicle with the intake of fresh air, the better nights sleep you can get. I don't see a lot of vanlifers touch on the topic of CO2 levels but I am glad you created this DIY window vent/fan cover to help bring in fresh air! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!

That’s a great point. The first night we ever slept in the car it was two adults and a dog. We could hardly breathe and may have been actually suffocating. 😬

There are stock cabin vents on most vehicles so as long as you can bring in enough air to overcome the one way flaps on those stock vents then an exhaust fan might not be totally necessary. With that said my main reason for venting a vehicle is to remove moisture from breathing so it might be smart to direct that air out by way of the most direct path possible rather than some convoluted path where the warm moist air might make contact with somethign that could allow it to condense and make things wet. Of course all of this is dependent on the climate and or temp where you are camping.
@MattTheDesigner2 күн бұрын
Yea I was thinking all that hot air probably collects in the sunroof cavity anyways. May as well pump it out.

Honestly it’s not that great. It leaks all over and if you let the battery die you can’t charge it because it can only charge while turned on. It is really cool though and maybe newer versions are better. The company is called Vosentech.

U no what I did - I bought a vehicle that is big nuf so I don't have to signal to the world that I'm a camper/overlander - where U bolt and attach sh*t to the top back and sides of UR rig because you bought something that is too small for it's intended purpose. (like virtually ALL Overland builds are currently doing) I've been sporting this look for 8 years (90k miles) while flying under the radar with great success... Clean is better.

@@MattTheDesigner got cha' I built mine to be capable enuf & be able to go far enuf to avoid at least 97.5% of the car camping crowd (da CCC). Didn't start that way but thru time I was able to upgrade it with great success. Without looking "The Part" BTW when will you be strapping on the Max Trax & shovel & high lift jack - That video I'd like to see-:) BTW your 5 gallons of H20 might look COOL but that much weight up high is a seriously BAD Design as it does f up the handling of the vehicle (unless you beef up the suspension - which I'm guessing you have not) This comment is more of an PSA to people who might consider copying this very very dangerous idea🤡

@@ThePlanet_L.I. Nah - Don't really have a channel. I built it after spending 3 months travelling in it before doing anything permanent. That especially & good YT channels & blogs will get you there. As I commented above Don't I mean Don't put that stupid AF water vessel on your rooftop. I self built the rig 8 years ago. It is built well but not beautiful to the point that I have no problem tearing something apart to tweak or improve or optimize it further by actually spending time in it. (8 years - 90k miles - slept in it for 28 month cumulative) I am currently in Natchez La enjoying the M River. OMW to slow drive the 444 mile Natchez Trace Parkway.
