Congrats to Matty. He definitely earned his spot in the finals. He has been solving well since the beginning of the season. I'm still honestly kinda shocked how Leo has just... lost his speed. Something happened. He used to consistently do well with sub 5s and occasionally getting 3 second solves. Now it seems he struggles to even get below 6 seconds. I wonder if it's the expectations he now feels or maybe the nerves. Hopefully he can figure out the issue and fix it promptly.

i wonder if it has anything to do with his growth. Since season 2 he seems to have grown a lot, his fingers look longer as well. Maybe his muscle memory tries to have him turn the cube in a certain way, but his fingers are no longer the correct length to do so?

@@MrSpectralio good theory, but I just believe that it’s his timer and his cube I think he has been using the gan 11 pro and it doesn’t look like a good fit for him, maybe if he gets a new timer and finds a cube that fits him he’ll be back to his normal solves soon enough, but nonetheless good performance by the both of them.

He definitely earned it. Both competitors did very good. And that sub 6 median! None of Leo's times were lost to Matty unfairly. Even though the timer refused to stop, Matty was still faster on those solves regardless if Leo's timer worked properly or not. Team Leo. Team Tymon. Team Felix. 💜

That's not the point though. As he said on the short interview, Leo's timer was mentally affecting him throughout his solves. He had to focus more onto stopping the timer compared to his solving. So yes the solves were slower but it could've been better without the timer "malfunction" getting into him.
