My man, I have been riding for mtb's for over 35 yrs, and seeing you progress in the way you have is what keeps me coming back to your channel. This is what mtbing is all about. Challenging yourself and continuing to progress. I think back with you on that Marlin and look at you now.... Testing out the new Slash!!! Congrats!! BTW, I got rid of my FS and went back to a HT. Got a Roscoe myself... Love it! Cheers to you!! Keep tearing it up!!
@mheald111 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Just started back up myself after not having been on a bike since the late 90’s…Marty’s progression is a huge motivator for me to push and regain that confidence on the trail. Absolutely love his videos.
@michaels8607 Жыл бұрын
I agree with Marc..I have NEVER seen a rider advance as quickly and efficiently as you on a MTB, and seen 30_ year riders still trying to master trails you already have. You brought your legs in, learned how to corner, climb, and work around the bike. Trek Slash was made for you..
@marcdemichele2689 Жыл бұрын
Michael, you aren't kiddin'. Seeing him mash those rock garden climbs with confidence was awesome to watch. When you are the one riding it is sometimes hard to see your progress, as you normally focus on the things that you aren't conquering instead of the small improvements that occur during this process. Matty is definitely paying attention to riding position, and body movement on the bike, two of what I found to be the most important things trying to overcome new obstacles.

I really got to say, it has been amazing to watch you and your channel grow. Your videos are on point. Your personality is amazing. I am saving for a full suspension. Can't wait to get one. The older slash is better in my opinion and looks better. The mullet setup gets hung up on rocks more then the full 29er and worst yet, the mullet isn’t as fast as a full 29er. Looks wise there’s To much going on with the new slash. Otherwise great review bro👍

The new Slash looks amazing. I just picked up a 2022 Slash 9.8, so I am not switching any time soon, but I was curious how the ride felt different on the new Gen. The new Slash is even more slack than the last Gen, but it sounds like you found it more manageable on the downhill and uphill.
@ignaciosevil2157 Жыл бұрын
i geniunly recomend to check the geometry of the bike before saying the previus gen was Slacker. The new one is slacker. Right from the start we know you are not informed of experienced. Still im impressed how well you are handling the bike, now you see why hardtails are not in the same category for any trail

Im so incredibly torn between the Slash and the Session. The session is older and more proven but I really like the way the Slash looks and I need full 12speed, but I dont need 200mm travel. So the Slash seems like it is the best for me, im just worried about chain drop and first gen issues yk.
@MattyActive Жыл бұрын
Those are definitely hard to choose between, In my personal opinion I would go with the slash. They seem to have fixed the drop chain issue and I didn’t have that issue at all when I rode it but I only had 3 rides with the slash

Sweet bike, Full suspensions basically outta my price range, but I still ride black downhill on my hardtail. It was a little odd seeing you tackle what you just tackled in a basic helmet, Fullface for downhill type stuff makes alot of sense and I cant recommend it enough, whether your on a proper enduro or a walmart bike, if your on black downhill type stuff and even some rough blues, fullface. Also, those extra sprockets might be annoying to clean after every ride too, I dont know, I guess they help with chain stability or something, I've never had a chain fall off on my cheap Shimano Deore 11 setup.

Also it isnt quietest bike out there. Im so annoyed from review from low skilled bikers or payed ones that advertise crap products and when you get the product you are disappointed...
@mattj6676 Жыл бұрын
I think you're being unfair, he's not paid by Trek, it was a loaner from a bike shop where he's borrowed tons of bikes to test out, and just like most of us can do if we have a relationship with our local bike shop. He probably didn't mention chain drops because his chain didn't drop and he probably has no idea what you're talking about. He's also never claimed to be an expert or expert rider, anyone who watches more than a few of his videos would know that. He's never hidden when a bike is given to him or when he buys it with his own money. He likes the brand, and mullet setups, to each his own. Before I spend $4k-$5k on a bike, I'd probably do a lot more research than an 11 minute video on KZbin.
