@@kman9884 Every stat you just listed is a compilation stat, not a rate stat. You just proved my point. Has the offense been successful this season with their run first identity? The obvious answer is yes. So, the Eagles do not need to throw the ball 50 times per game to win, so why should they? To inflate a QB's stats? That's just stupid. The Eagles run game is better than the passing game. That's not even a slight at Hurts, that is more a comment on how utterly dominant the Eagles run game is. (which *_includes_* Hurts by the way). Oh by the way, remember all that moronic media controversy about Hurts and AJ Brown a few weeks ago and the fact that the Eagles _made a point_ to throw the ball that week? All Hurts did was go 25-32 with 290 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs. When Hurts wants to throw the ball, he absolutely can, but he doesn't have to. Also, I wouldn't use the "he has all those weapons" argument out there given Hurts _still_ led the Eagles to the postseason in 2021 with *checks notes* _Rookie_ Devonta Smith as his #1 Quez Watkins as his #2 (yikes) Jalen Reagor as his #3 (YIKES) Not exactly an elite cast.

Tanner is a flat out smarter QB, better anticipation passer, and better at reading defenses than Hurts. This has been obvious since they drafted Tanner. You could see him in the preseason games do exactly what everybody is talking about now. It’s no longer a secret just to Eagle fans. Hurts is FRUSTRATING to watch. He misses wide open receivers. He cannot handle defense adjustments and pressure well. He constantly just rolls out of the pocket and throws it out of bounds rather than making the defenses pay for blitzing. He isn’t a good team leader. He isn’t a natural leader. He isn’t a good motivator. After you watch Hurts and then watch Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Jackson, and Mahomes, you realize that Hurts simply isn’t in their tier. I think there needs to be a quarterback controversy in Philadelphia. But the Eagles are stuck with Hurts. Maybe if he 💩 the 🛌 during the playoffs, Howie Roseman and Jeff Lurie may need to start thinking really hard.

I don't understand the hype for McKee over Pickett tbh. I think Pickett played just as well last week with a messed up rib. McKee played well, don't get me wrong, and he has looked solid in his opportunities. I get all that. But bro is a decent NFL backup QB right now, that's all he is. He might get a chance to start for a crappy team one day, but that's his ceiling. He has little mobility, his arm strength is lacking, and he telegraphs his passes a bit. He is accurate, poised in the pocket, and delivers timing routes on time and extremely well, but his weaknesses will likely be exposed against any non-scout team (i.e. not the Giants). Pickett is the best #2 option right now only because of his experience. He's not a world beater by any means, but I'd take him over McKee as of right now if I was forced to choose. From the eye test, I thought both looked equally compelling the last few weeks.

trade Hurts for 2 Firsts and start the kid....love his style of play....screw that dual threat crap
@mbrum323018 күн бұрын
Do you really think teams want the QB that leads the 31st ranked passing attack despite superstar wrs and all time off line. He is objectively horrendous.
@sawmill03518 күн бұрын
@@mbrum3230Literally every rate stat in existence disagrees with you lmao. Show some statistical evidence before hating. Hurts has the 10th best QBR, 5th best passer rating, 8th best completion %, 6th lowest INT %, and the 11th best TD %. Notice how these are all *rate* stats, not compilation stats. Naturally, a QB who only throws the ball 20 times per game will have fewer yards thrown than a QB who throws it 50 times per game. Basic math. Hurts is objectively a top 10 QB in football right now, and it's not really even debatable.
@Cerestes18 күн бұрын
@@mbrum3230 well....I wouldnt go THAT far....Hurts has limitations, but his intangables, he's a winner and his leadership ability, are very positive traits that would benefit many teams, I'd place him squarely middle of the pack as far as his overall QB rating and he's proven to be a very viable NFL QB for a team that likes the read option and dual threat type of QB play...

Dude, why are you already trying to trade him? He’s going to be under contract for two more years. What if we need him during that stretch? What if Hurts suffers a season ending injury next September? McKee still offers value to us. If he leaves as a free agent after his fourth year, it would probably only happen if he were offered starter money elsewhere, and if that’s the case we’d get a future good comp pick in return. Don’t be trading away good depth. We won a Super Bowl precisely because we had good depth at quarterback.

Ironically, they need to do the packer's system where they have tanner 2nd string under Hurts until hurts retires.

pocket qbs unlock all your weapons its a cool idea to have a duel threat qb with a bunch of weapons but that qb limits your superstars on the outside’s abilities to shine our team is built for a dominant pocket passing qb that can throw the ball 35-40 times a game this offense would look on the field like it does on paper with tanner mckee starting aj smitty and even dotson would be at our above 1k receiving yards and godert would get 750 plus and tannee would be in conversations for MVP and saquan would only have to run 15-20 times a game but when he does the box will be so light him and the oline wouldn’t even know how to act tanner should be qb 1

I don't think McKee would be 37-10 the last 3 seasons. In terms of passing, they are relatively close in skill from the extremely small sample size we've seen of McKee. But Hurts provides so many more options on the ground that it isn't really a contest. Hurts is the better QB by far.
@inquizative4417 күн бұрын
@sawmill035 Hurts may be better statistically but who would get a ring sooner?.. I think McKee would do that quicker and more of them. He's a true pocket passer. I don't like scrambling quarterbacks because they ALL get hurt beyond reason. I literally saw Hurts get hurt by literally getting his head intentionally slammed into the AstroTurf after scrambling.
@sawmill03517 күн бұрын
@@inquizative44 Who would win a ring sooner? Uh, I don't know, how about the objectively better QB??? What does that even mean? And your point about scrambling QBs is moot. Lamar is the best QB in the league in year 7. And Hurts has only missed 4 games in 3 years. You act like he misses 8 games per season.

Howie signing Pickett was a lame move, now we're stuck with him until 2026/2027. McKee has the skills to be a dang good qb2 for the eagles. Shame about Pickett.
