I know there was some risk inherently but the amount of kids you just inspired was priceless. They’re gonna tell all their friends, and who knows how many of them will pursue aviation one day. A helicopter landing in my town when I was 5 is part of what inspired me to be a pilot! 🤙🏻

Chris is the salt of the earth. He’s a huge man with a huge heart, who goes above and beyond for our community. I was there that day with my 6 year old daughter and she can’t stop talking about how cool it was when the helicopter landed in town. FYI, the ice cream shop referenced in the video is next door to Chris’ shop, BobaQue. It’s called Bonnidell’s and is a staple of the community. So are Pauly’s Pizza, Molly-O’s sno-cones, Marsala’s Market, Wine Bar, Padavan’s, Casa Mia, and The Bridge Coffee House. All within a 2 minute walk of where Matt landed.

Cool video! there must be something about chopper pilot; A friend of mine would rent a machine to keep her hours up. She would pop by her son's school, pick him up, and take him off to the city for a movie and food. Just for the heck of it!

That was a good video. Everybody was super friendly. The officer, Chris, the barbecue man you were friendly with the kids. The kids were excited to see you. The parents were respectful of you. It was all route a good vibe video.

Born and raised in St. Charles. The area he landed was all farm field when I was growing up. Got a ride in a helicopter at landed in the field next to Walmart in harvester. My first time ever flying, was a great time. Safe flying and will watch some more. Edited to add that at the end I see that you are landing at Skylink Aviation. I did some flying with Herman back in 2015 and is a great instructor.

My uncle used to be a heli pilot, but w here I live you're only allowed to land and depart on designated airports. If you want to land like this you need a special one-time permit and you need to get it weeks in advance. This does look like fun!

Really like your chopper. Dicey landing area. You said, "I don't want to fly over anybody." Well, you succeeded -- instead you flew over _everybody_! ;-) Assume you know the rules better than I do. Got to say that BBQ place made me hungry. I'd go in a heartbeat if I was in your area. Also, I agree with @AFJ_ comment about inspiring the kids. Nice job.

I’ve been looking for a place that gives helicopter rides in the StL area BUT not the sightseeing type. I absolutely love helicopters and have always wanted to fly in one. But I want to sit up front with the pilot and ask questions. Any places around the StL area that does that?

I was woundering when you saluted the bbq lad if he needs a ride somewhere and then I saw how tall he is, I am 6.3 but boy he is a gentle giant :)

Im in the UK and we have similar laws regarding helicopter offsite landings. got a vid on my channel that shows it

20 years ago I was driving in the delta, and a crop duster flew right next to me and we waved at each other. Pretty crazy.

Did you check if there is a city ordinance prohibiting aircraft landing there ?

When Chris got himself in the helicopter I was thinking about Jaw's in the James Bond movie driving around with his head poking through the sun-roof.

When I lived in Memphis they had the best Barbeque's, there was "Loebs", "Little Pigs", and several more, that's about all I ate when I lived there.

You had a birds eye veiw open your eyes.

Where was that? I live about 30 minutes from St. Chuck and wouldn't mind making the drive to check out the bbq.

If only helicopters had retractable wheels and propellers, make it look like a car.
