Can't wait to see how you like (or dislike) the DC charger! I've been holding off on getting solar, just to see what you think about DC charging. Your living space was really freed up, I see.

There are quality Power stations out there they have the features of the expensive ones nowadays I'm with Black Friday coming on it's a good time to buy one Harbor freight equality one but it has all of the features that Matty spoke about.

Wow where to begin? Everything looks so clean and tidy. But this is not the half of it. Let's start with the power stations and MC connectors. You explain everything so clearly, that between all the information I have gleaned from the KZbin channels and what information gave us today, it just clicked inside of me how these things work and to work efficiently. Power stations are the way and panels, either portable or fixed. But me being in a Town & Country, I prefer portable. Thank you so much Matty. Now let's get back to your van. You have been under considerable anxiety trying to figure out whether you wanted to buy a new van, put a high top on the van, buy a trailer and all of those configurations. But the whole time it revolved around your frustration about too much stuff in your van and all of the wires driving you crazy. Look what you accomplished today. Everything looks wonderful and it makes terrific sense. Thank you for sharing this with us because it's helped many of us to to understand how wiring works. You explained it so calmly and thoroughly. ☮️💜😊

I'm working on a minivan no build and the power banks are a god send. No wiring or inverters etc. Just find a place for it and figure out how to charge it (solar and/or dc from the car). Make sure the unit can get air. Make sure it won't roll while driving. Easy peezy.

Hi Matty, I began with a split solar arrangement using power stations for over five years now. Never understood why others, especially smaller rigs, weren't doing the same. lol Adding back up with the new dc charger completes the system. Simplicity is divinity.😁

Nice set-up. I updated my ‘91 Roadtrek two years ago with a similar system., using the house wiring that existed, There’s a great saying ‘ In technology simplification is the greatest sophistication’. Then there’s ‘KISS’, ‘Keep it simple stupid’ 😜👍✌️

I have a similar setup: 200w solar on the roof, 660w in portable panels, 2 bluetti AC180s, a grecell t-1000, and a little bluetti eb3a. I finally got the bluetti charger 1 dc-to-dc charger. Hoping to get it installed this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how it goes full time using power stations (I'm a part-timer planning to go full time in a few years).

You have a really nice setup.l have an Olympic wave catalytic heater. They don't use a lot of propane and you can mount them on the wall. They are kind of pricey but I love mine. I would never get another Mr Buddy after having this heater. A lot of people put them on a swivel arm, they work great

Yeah power stations have gotten so much better these days. I am running a similar setup. 200ah power station, 200 watts on the roof, 200 watt foldable and 500w dc to dc. Plus spare smaller power station. Only thing that can suck is say a port goes out on one of your units. Great Video! Happy Travels! 🤙🏾

I'd tape or put a piece of rubber over the wires where they pass through the square edge of the interior grommet area. Over time they will chafe and arc or ground out. Looks great. Much more simple. That's what makes these new systems so convenient. Easy to hook up and simple to operate. Essentially plug and play. Nothing like the old converter controller systems of just a few months back. one of those units are too heavy either. The 3000 watt units are. But they are getting lighter as well. Tech is really changing. China has the efficient batteries now. Sad but true. All good from east KY USA Next time

Hey Matty.. I'm trying to build a solar panel tilt bracket for a 8 inches high roof rack that can connect to the roof rack I can have it laid down while driving while I'm parked somewhere I can have it killed up in an angle to get stuff out I want to put about 400 w so I have different ways of pairing my stuff I have two powerful big generators I'm also going to get that ecoflow alternator charger that connects to your battery the power stuff when needed but I'm also going to get solar panels with the Tilt bracket so I have multiple ways of having power source to charge the battery generators I need some ideas from you to how it will go good on building that bracket on top of the roof rack so I can have a tilt in it I can tilt it up in a degree angle I'm using voice command
@NMWanderings2 күн бұрын
So, you replaced two batteries with four power stations... I don't see how that is a savings of either space or money. Those big power stations are expensive! And they still contain a similar battery for equivalent amp hours. Yes, it's simpler for someone who just wants quick and easy, or doesn't understand how to build a system. But you obviously do know how. Of course, I am still working on my van, so maybe you're right. Good point about the swapping of positive and negative. I have run into that with SAE connectors to my cheap Harbor Freight solar panels. What I needed for mine was a "gender changer", electrical, not biological! 🙂

Matty I picked up a Signstec wood stove fan they make for the Mr Buddy heater. Well worth the 25 dollars. On ebay.
@nomad895023 күн бұрын
Is there a reason you didn't keep the 400 watts going to one power generator and passing power through to the other one?
@MattyVanHalen3 күн бұрын
It's hard to explain but I will try. I wanted to wire my panels in series and if I did that with four 100 w panels that would put me close to 80 volts. But my power stations will only charge up to 60 volts so that's why I had to split it into two systems
@nomad895023 күн бұрын
@MattyVanHalen Thanks, that makes total sense. Didn't think of the voltage.
