TK is cut from the right cloth and has the dog in em. Reinhart comp isnt a thing, he took less - apples oranges. Also too many ppl focus on the number, they need to focus on cap percentage --- thats what matters. 8 m's will be 3rd line money in 8 years. this wont be an anchor. i like it

@@lesternastoga5013 where do you want the rebuild to come from then? They only had two drafts since the rebuild was announced and they have no cap space for a free agent. Considering they got 3 firsts and 2 seconds in a higher talent draft than in 2024, I’d say that’s a win towards the rebuild.

That's not signaling a rebuild, they only traded walker because his original asking price, priced himself out of Philadelphia, resigning ej instead of letting attard step in (who has been better both in the eye test and analytically the last 2 years) that doesn't signal rebuilding, only trading guys who were bad in the locker room (provy/hayes) that doesn't signal a rebuild, yes they've acquired 2 extra 1sts and 2nds for this upcoming draft, but have basically fiddled with their thumbs when they could have set this team up with more draft capital, that's been a problem for many years, then you add the fact they're giving max term contracts to secondary pieces without any primary pieces, that's a problem, if michkov doesn't turn out to be a Crosby like talent, we will remain in hockey purgatory, and then we will be looking at 20+ years of this team being a joke, since it's already been 12 years, that's also another problem is they aren't looking at the overall big picture, they're more so worried about playing to the "authentics" and the "bully fans" and everything they've done has been very short sighted, and very flawed

No absolutely not. Tippett is a winger not a center. You can always trade or sign a top end center when the time is right, you don’t always have to draft & develop

@@geoffreyallen9314 not necessarily. Not every player can play like Crosby or Stamkos. Many decline starting at around 32. If TK turns into Atkinson 2, the last 4 years of that contract will be bad.

I like tk, but that's too much term, a very slight over pay, I think trading him was smarter for the franchise, but I think this can indicate to the authentics that this isn't actually a rebuild, it was indeed a retool, and back to tk, if all you can say is, well the cap will continue growing, then it wasn't a good idea

It’s the going rate for players like him, deal with it. “This isn’t a rebuild, I don’t want to hear them say that again”… meanwhile they are literally the second youngest team in the league if the season started today behind buffalo at 26.1 average age.
