Was the dimple pick you used modified? I am thinking of buying a set, but I don't want to sand the shaft.

It is modified, but it's a small price to pay for a set that cheap. I am using this symmetrical flag for nearly every dimple lock I pick. Rounding the shaft takes like 15 minutes each

@@plazz7235 I am not sure if sanding is a one-size-fits-all solution. I have a cheap 5-pin dimple European with spool pins. The housing is aluminum. Even with the most expensive picks available I cannot get enough torque to set the pins without the pick slipping. I pick from the left side of the pins. I need a shaft that is slightly wider. And, this problem exists only with this one lock. I have no problem with others. I have this set coming. Lets see how it does on this cylinder in the raw form.

@@laurenarndt464 Aren't you putting too much tension? Try to ease up on it when you feel like your pick is going to slip. The amount of torque you need depends only on the tension you apply

@@plazz7235 There's something inherent with these aluminium cylinders and tolerances. Without enough torque the pins won't set. This is lock with a pretty wide keyway when compared to other brands that use the same keyblank.
