Might want to update the description for the show guys, there's about $150 alone in thermoplastic on this one.. hardly in the spirit of the DIY Prop Shop channel I originally subbed to.. "Follow along with our hosts as they show you how to build awesome props from all of your favorite movies & games, for under $50! This is DIY Prop Shop!"
@HallowqueenCrafting7 жыл бұрын
She's using about $90 worth of EPS insulation foam too. Maybe less in US.
@HendoArt7 жыл бұрын
MrsRCharlton in the US it's $5 per piece! although you see me glue a ton together, I ended up only using 8 pieces. it would be better to use one big sheet of it but they don't sell it here Q_Q
@HendoArt7 жыл бұрын
Kris B We definitely talk about this a lot. it's hard to choose between doing something big and cool, and doing something affordable. if we made the hook small, the price would be under $50, but since it's huge it was $$$!

@titheproven9547 жыл бұрын
lol I love Hendo and all but I don't get WHY she covered in worbla. Just dremel tool the carvings first and then buy Flex Seal and spray thick. I mean worbla is cool and everything, it is useful for a lot of stuff, but it isn't needed here.
@HendoArt7 жыл бұрын
Tithe Proven It wasn't my first choice, but sealing a two-sided 6-ft hook with glue would have taken 2 more production days that they'd have to hire me for. So it's weirdly cheaper for the show to have me use worbla and just mention other methods!
@titheproven9547 жыл бұрын
lol that is funny I would not have thought of the Production side of things in number of days. That has to be ruff b/c so much of my prop making needs over night drying now that I think about it. With that in mind I am sure Worbla is a lot easier.
@HendoArt7 жыл бұрын
Tithe Proven yeah and I personally hate knowing it's not the cheaper/diy way to do it! we are filming an episode right now and they are trying out longer build times! so the next episode (august) won't have worbla 0_0 you guys won't even recognize me LOL

I really like that you made the hook the size it ACTUALL IS in the movie even though it's way too bulky and big for anyone but a mountain of a man to even hold (praying for a cameo from the rock in the future where he holds it) so points for dedication there Hendo! ^^ But under 50$? Sure. No problem at all... If you have a few sponsors who buy all the worbla for you and you don't add that to the final price. I have watched this show for a long time now and I have seen that you're moving away from the cheaper stuff more often than not, and you know what? I'm completely fine with it! A lot of the earlier builds where you really saved a lot of money on material kinda.... Showed That you did. I like the turn you have taken to where you want to show the steps to make great props using the methods you need to go through to make the props great.

Hendo im sorry but im not watching your videos anymore. the description says under 50$ but you used atleast 80-150$ just on warbla. hell girl do you know how to do something without warbla? and i agree with most of you guys Odin could have done way better and it would have been WAY under the 50$ mark.
@BlahMehMehMeh7 жыл бұрын
Yeeep this is definitely way over $50. One sheet of Jumbo black Worbla alone is $80 already (and I don't think 1 sheet is enough for this project). It would've been cheaper if it was finished with wood glue and sanded smooth.
@crucifixroarband88387 жыл бұрын
CRÌMSON BLAÐÉ You realize you don't have to use Worbla right? You can use other sealants to do it, Worbla/thermoplastic is just a bit of a faster way to do it
@Sirkillmenot827 жыл бұрын
Crucifix Roarband "Follow along with our hosts as they show you how to build awesome props from all of your favorite movies & games, for under $50!" This is in the description. Then she goes ahead and uses 3 times of that amount on worbla alone. Either they should build the thing under $50 or remove that from the description. Saying "you could do this or that because it's cheaper" doesn't cut it.
@crucifixroarband88387 жыл бұрын
Sirkillmenot82 it does cut it, she literally tells you different ways to do and decided to go with the easier option, though the most expensive. And I'm quite sure that's just something they put into the description for all their videos, and if you're not happy with it, then don't watch the channel as it changes to show different outlooks on how to build it.
