Great cinematography dude! Really enjoyed the video :) One thing I would recommend is having more shots from a tripod, either panning or tilting. It would make the great glide cam footage you have stand out a lot more and look even more awe inspiring! Otherwise great stuff! Thanks for sharing and upload. Very nice and impressive. I've also Glidecam HD 2000, use with 5D mark III, but couldn't get such type of smoothness. Could you please share your secret, what's the technique and what software you use in post. I use warp stabilizer in Adobe Premiere pro, but it gives jerky footage. Thanks for sharing.
@amirazakeri9 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For this video I shot each scene atleast 20 times. Just to make sure I got it as steady as possible. A trick to learning the Glidecam quickly is imagine walking with a full glass of water. That stride/movement is what you want and the "glide" hand should barely be touch the glidecam. Just enough to direct it.

you got some beautiful videos man keep it up i want to start making videos like this but don't know flycam or glidecam can you help with this ? is it worth extra money for glidecam whats the difference ?? also is VC or IS in DSLR also help stablize ? do i need further stablization like maybe editing program or no need to !! ? if you got no time plz only reply to glidecam question thanks bro i subscribed
@amirazakeri10 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I've seen some handmade glidecam rigs but I believe its worth saving up for. They take a while to learn as well but its well worth the practice. There is no IS because it is an ultra wide angle lens (16mm). The wider the angle the less shake there is. You can do post stabilization just becareful of malicious warping. Hope that helps!
@TheDarkKnight0310 жыл бұрын
what do you mean malicious warping ?? i found the best alternative for glidecam and its half the price!!..its Laing p-04 or upgraded one p-4s looks so good that im buying it now

Amir Zakeri o ok understood. How long were you in practice mood before you headed out to Maui?
@amirazakeri10 жыл бұрын
Damian Grey About a month I'd say, I did a few 'practice videos' shooting skateboarding and tricking as well.
@damedash10110 жыл бұрын
Nice. Do you utilize any post stabilizing stuff?
@amirazakeri10 жыл бұрын
When I need to but sometimes it causes warping that really messes with the film, so I always shoot the same scene multiple times so I can choose the most stable one

Wow superb video! I just started learning glidecam also but the results are still not smooth: vimeo.com/102996626 (made on my 2nd day of glidecam). I have a question. Did you handheld your glidecam for this video? Thanks
@amirazakeri10 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I handheld my glidecam for this, in fact I only handhold my glidecam. I watched your video and might be able to help you out. First off when you walk with the glidecam, try to walk like you're holding a full glass of water that you're trying not to spill. That stride movement is what you want with the Glidecam. Also it looks like your non-dominant hand, the "gliding hand," is not being used properly. You might be holding the glidecam with that hand and you do not want to do that. Make sure you have a firm grip on the handle with your dominant hand and with your other hand you want to barely touch it. Just enough to 'direct' the positioning. Hopefully that helps out but really the best way is to just keep practicing. Also make sure your Glidecam is balanced on the X, Y, and Z planes. Keep rocking it and hopefully that helps out!
@agro1986x10 жыл бұрын
Amir Zakeri Thanks a lot for the tips! Yes, I think I didn't use my gliding hand properly. After following your tip everything comes out better and not jerky again! Need more practice :). Anyway, for someone beginning videography/cinematography are there any forums/communities that you recommend? Thanks again!
@amirazakeri10 жыл бұрын
Agro Rachmatullah Glad I could help :) I don't know of any forums/communities but I learned a lot of what I know from Devin Graham's BTS videos haha. No Film School has a free DSLR video PDF that you can get and it explains everything about filming! That helped me out a lot.
