Maula Jutt is playing at a theatre in Simi Valley, California 50 miles away from my home till November 2, 2022, I don't know if it will be shown in Los Angeles area, even though three miles away Bollywood movies are periodically shown. Maybe I will drive 60 miles to Simi Valley to watch it.

This is a brilliant Movie, it worked so well because the screenplay was in Punjabi, this movie wouldn't have same impact in Hindi or Urdu, very well made movie from start to finish

To date, 11 Indian movies have earned above $100 million (with the highest grosser earning $338 million). To date, only 1 Pakistani movie has earned above $5 million. That really is a big gulf which shows how badly the Pakistani society has let down itself over decades. I hope my fellow Indians trending Boycott Bollywood realize where this madness eventually leads to. Thankfully India has several major film industries other than Bollywood.

India population is over 1 billion and there is a big currency difference between PKR and INR, and there have been quite a few Pakistani movies which have crossed over 5 million$. If this movie was released in 2019 then according to that PKR value this 150 Cr would have been over 10 Million$

@@lazorplayz4556 to make the figures immune to exchange rate fluctuations, I presented the figures in USD. India's top grosser accumulated $338 million and this happened back in 2016. So, if you start backdating Pakistani movies, the same should be done to Indian movies too. And there is only one Pakistani movie to date that has crossed $5 million mark and that is the recently released Maula Jatt which this video is talking about. Coming to your population point, India's population is 6 times Pakistan's. But India's top grosser is 56 times Pakistan's (assuming Maula Jatt crosses $6 million). I don't think any of your reasoning really holds ground. Neither population nor currency exchange are the reasons. The sole reason behind such bad state of Pakistani film industry is the highly regressive and radicalized Pakistani society. And the similar trend is slowly beginning to pick up in India too, of which I am highlighting the dangers by giving this example of Pakistan.

I just came to know that this movie earned $5.3 M which is 34.45 crore in Indian rupee...but their producers are saying they have beaten RRR in UK..I think forget the currency difference

@@lazorplayz4556 low quality pakistani analysis as usual. India has 6 times the population of Pakistan, around 10-12x the GDP. Even if you normalize to dollar rates or GDP- top earnings Indian movie has made 338 million, top earning Pak movie has made $6.4 million - that's a 53x difference. Good to see that movies are coming back to Pakistan though - Pakistan has a crazy number of amazing stories to tell if they don't ban free speech
