The real nightmare scenario is a continuation of films like this where they go the "Safe edgy" route trying to pander to the anti-woke crowd. Always pulling their punches juuuust enough to not get in actual trouble with the corpo/DEI overlords, but throwing on a veneer of irreverent and transgressive jokes with no actual guts or substance to any of it. I could absolutely see this being a direction they take based on how well this film did.

Deadpool and Wolverine, to me, felt like a story of Dante and an alternate universe version of Vergil that's 'supposedly' worse than the main version we all know working together to save the multiverse and have to fight multiple versions of Dante at his current power level in the third act. It just doesn't fucking work.

Unless they really want us to believe that Vergil really is that strong and if my first playthrough of DMC5 is anything to go by…yeah.

I think it could work if it was dmc1 through dmc4 Dante that was sad after losing Vergil or that what if where they fight an army of Trish clones would get most depressed after destroying entities that looks like your mom
