Even though he was past his prime, I loved watching Joe in his last two years in Kansas City. Many people said he was too old, his stats were too pedestrian and he couldn’t get the job done anymore, but then he’d turn back the clock in games like the MNF win against Denver and the overtime victory against Pittsburgh in the Wildcard round in 1993, showing he still had that Montana Magic

At 10:41 That’s just the pinnacle of precision. A crucial 3rd down play, meaning they punt if they don’t make it, and the drive is sustained because of a perfectly dropped pass by the quarterback even with the play well defended. Again at 34:16 by Montana, into coverage no less! So smooth!

I'm sure only those from Kansas City and Miami, since they're the only folks who are going to get to see it on NBC (not that exclusive streaming service named after a rainbow bird that is so money hungry)... putting that Wild Card exclusively on a streaming service is like a repeat of what ESPN did with their cable only Wild Card (which coincidentally also involved the Chiefs). It's like the Chiefs kingdom is being targeted with these ridiculous experiments. I'm sure that NBC's numbers will go down when just about all of America (excluding Kansas City and Miami) will start ragingly throwing stuff at the TV when they get sent to Deal or No Deal instead of the Chiefs. Same for all those fake football fans that only want to see Taylor Swift in a suite box. Not worth an extra $4.99 for that.

The argument on the greatest QB to play the game will always come down to personal affection. Although I am too young to defend that title with pre-70's greats. I personally rate Montana first, P Manning, then Marino. These three I believe brought the most fear to opposing defense. With that I say "The Best is yet to come" because players like Mahomes, Jackson, and Burrow are going to be amazing.

The Chiefs going into this year really needed to try to get some good WR help for Montana. It might have also helped to convince JM to play a 3rd year. I think a trade for a veteran using some of their draft capitol would have been best , but even if it was in the draft it would have been preferable to what they did do (imo). In 1994 draft the Chiefs used their 1st rounder on a RB Greg Hill and inexplicably, also their 2nd rounder on another RB Donnell Bennet. This is despite still having 4 years of Marcus Allen ahead of them & 3rd round back Kimble Anders already on the roster. The next 3 WRs taken after the Hill pick (25) were 29th overall Derrick Alexander (48 rec for 828 yds in Rookie Yr. ) 30th overall was Darnay Scott (46 rec for 866 yds in Rookie yr ) & 33rd overall was Isaac Bruce ( 119 rec 1781 yds 13 tds in 2nd year ). It’s very east to guess that IF KC had went WR in first round instead of RB they would have ended up with one of those 3 guys. Considering they were going RB in round 2 as well , it would have made sense to go WR In 1st round. OR depending on who might have been available in trade market , use the 1st and/or 2nd securing some good WR help for the guy who was used to throwing to Jerry Rice , John Taylor, and Brent Jones.
@glennhalila8279 Жыл бұрын
You're right Bruce was one of the Best. Darnay Scott went to the Cincinnati Bengals who is my team. I live in Cincinnati. I'm a Sports fan. For example I have/had a really unique situation. My oldest Niece was one of Ben Roethlisberger's trainer's at Miami of Ohio Redhawks (formerly Redskins). I knew that the Cincinnati Bengals and everyone else was in TROUBLE when the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him. He lost his 1st start his Jr. Year and won the rest. His Senior Year he went undefeated and his Rookie year he won 10 games in a row, maybe more than that. He was hurt going into the playoffs. Every Cincinnati Bengals Fan hates him. I can't because him and my Niece Megan were extremely close friends. Plus I was a Big fan of him at a Collegiate Level. I still rooted for the Bengals when Cincinnati played the Steelers, but I respected, not Hated Big Ben! Me and a nephew were at the Tampa Super Bowl when he beat Warner and the Cardinals. It was a Sea of Black and Gold. It was like being at a Steelers Home Game. I don't know why hardly any Arizona fans were there, but that's the way it was.

I'm 47 and a lifelong 49ers fan, so needless to say, I'm a huge Montana fan. Jerry Rice is my all time favorite football player and Steve Young is my favorite QB. I never put Young above Montana regarding whos better, Montana was always on top of my best QB ever list. Now in 2022, I just can't honestly say Montana should be above Bradey, that dude deserves to be called the GOAT of QBs. I don't love that fact, but it's true.

What about Brady? You might ask. Again, personal preference. Well, Brady, like Bradshaw, Elway and Young, have rings to propel their arguments, but they all had a lot of talent on both sides of the field help their cause. In Brady's case he had a lot of luck beginning with the "tuck rule" fiasco and two blown certain victories by SB opponents and questionable cheating accusations. So for me he doesn't even crack my top 10. Sorry Patriot fans.

It's as if he has another set of eyes in the back of his head. As for Brady's toughness, he is legendary . If his teams needed a first down on 3rd or 4th down and short yardage, Brady's success rate in getting that first down is off the charts as is his ability to score a td in close on a qb keeper when there is short yardage. His toughness is legendary.
