Andrè and Karl Richter, two outstanding musicians everybody misses. Both unequalled, unique, it's a great privilege and pure joy to listen to them.

This is originally an OBOE concerto. But when I purchased it, the title said "Concerto for Trumpet." I never knew it was an oboe concerto and played it for a jury. I played it on a traditional Bb trumpet. My teacher was a gentleman and never said anything about it being an oboe concerto. He just maintained a "long face" for the few weeks I worked on it.

it can be only conductor Karl Richter...you recognize him from tone 1 (heavy, tightly, solid, German and almost perfect)

André was picked by Richter to play the first trumpet in his recording of the J.S. Bach Christmas Oratorio earlier, and this was his way of saying ‘thank you’ for the equally magnificent performance of Andrè in that production.
