I don't think I've ever heard this version but I much prefer the energy of the original. It's good for what it is, and it was probably really forward thinking and fresh in '88. Honestly, I didn't catch on to this particular late night acid sound until about late '89 or so and by that time this kind of track was quite generic. There were were much better examples of late night acid than this. Thanks for posting!
