@@johanmeischke9189 Nope, pretty sure the South Island economy is in the Black while the North is always in the Red as it is the welfare Island of New Zealand ... Dairy still accounts for most of NZ GDP btw.

@@ronnymcdonald2543 agreed and roughly 75 % of dairy is in the North Island mainly Waikato and tarinaki. NZs biggest import port is Auckland. Its biggest export port is Tauranga with not only dairy but the majoritory of forestry and other exports. Roughly 80% if tourists come via either mangaree or Hamilton. Combine Hamilton Auckland Tauranga and Wellington and you have approximately 3/4 of the population generating the vast majority of NZs GDP. In terms of population alone the North Island is the countries economic be powerhouse. To say anything else is not only factually incorrect but illogical

Auckland is a political nuthouse more like it. Primary produce has led the way for NZ. As long as the farms are producing well Auckland will follow suit. Always been that way. The South Island has a tendency to outdo the Northerners as stalwarts of this country.
