Maurice you have mad skills with wood. A lot of people say they are craftsman and arent. You say nothing in your videos it's all about the wood and your craftmanship. You make the complex things look easy.

I really enjoy the woodworking craftsmanship and the filmmaking of your videos. Your choice of music is great too. This serving tray video makes me feel like I'm back in the 1960s, sitting in my mid century design living room, smoking a cigarette and listening to this on my big console record player. That would have been tough, since I was only a child then, but still that's what I think of. Hahha. Awesome work!

I didn’t catch it in the video, but it seems you would need to angle the dado at 10 degrees to match the angle of the sides. I’m working on a similar design to showcase recycled flooring from the Palace of the Governors here in Santa Fe-ponderosa pine over 400 years old. I like that you don’t instruct-you give just enough so we can figure out how, in our own way.

Really good-looking piece. I enjoyed the video too very much. Is the panel floating in the frame or glued in, and if so could that be a problem?
@MauriceBlok9 жыл бұрын
+Richard Leon The panel is floating and only glued at the centre to the frame allowing for expansion and contraction. Fully glueing the panel in would be asking for trouble.

Big fan of your videos! You make it all look so clean, and effortless. That final treatment you put on there, is that available to purchase or it a mixture you made up? I have used the osmo oil usually as the final finish on my workpieces, isn;t that enough or does the wax give an extra level of protection?
@MauriceBlok7 жыл бұрын
It is a mixture of beeswax, carnaubawax and paraffin oil. But you are right just Osmo is the better way to go, at least thats how i finish them nowadays. Clear Topoil for the tray and and 3062 (or is it 3064..?) for the sides and handles. Thanks!
