Those A380s are a thing of Beauty. Didn't know that was such a demand for Mauritius though.
@INTUITIVENORSK2303 Жыл бұрын
Mauritius is a top tourist destination & has been for many, many decades. It has a high tourist demand, although like everywhere, during the lockdowns tourism/economy in Mauritius suffered, as within many countries. Also & many don't realise this, but Mauritius has long been a very strong economy within Africa & one of the wealthiest actually. It's "not" a third world island, as some seem to believe. It's got pretty good infrastructure abound & most people do work. The only visually obvious issue that i can think of, is that some people throw/dump their rubbish roadside, more so near deserted places, but rubbish/litter can be found near some residential regions most unfort. I have written to the Govt regarding this, as i really value this beautiful island & it's very precious eco-system, flora & fauna etc;. So do most people who've visited. It's just laziness i'd say & the Mauritian Govt need to seriously tackle this issue, as it's very important & so worth it, as Mauritius does get many tourists annually, so worth saving this island from further environmental damage. It's a beautiful wee Island & has much to offer for the tourist & the beaches, the food & the hospitality are second to none. One last thing, in ref to it's inhabitants. Mauritius is classified as an African country, but 'not" because all it's inhabitants are fully African & in fact, on the absolute contrary. It's only because of it's geographical location/proximity to the African mainland/continent. If you look more deeply into it's people's history, from prior to the times of slavery & beyond, it's peoples are very mixed & have arrived there from many countries, specifically India, which today, Mauritius's inhabitants are mostly of South Asian ancestry, European ancestry, E & SE Asian ancestry & of course, some African ancestry. There used to be many Creoles there, but many left after the British left back in March 1968. They're living across the world & many have married people from many backgrounds, specifically European, so there are newer genetic admixtures with the Creoles. There are of course, other ethnic groups living on the island. There are the Sino-Mauritians, Indo-Mauritians, Franco-Mauritians & newcomers (in more recent times) from numerous African nations. Ie: Mainland Africa & the Caribbean, specifically Jamaica. Funnily enough, if you google Mauritian Creoles, you'll only read that they're of African & European/French ancestry solely, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I was fortunate enough to view the DNA results of many Mauritian Creole people & they're incredibly mixed ethnically, to the point, that 4 of my close friends, all cover approx 18 global regions! Amazing! My Creole friends were mostly South Asian, with large chunks of European & some S & SE Asian, Central Asian, the Caucasus, the Middle East & a host of other ethnicity markers & surprisingly, their African DNA, was actually the "least" percentage within their results, which i found so interesting. From memory, they ranged between 3% to 12% to 18% African @ the highest %, from what i witnessed. And the Creole peoples, they really are a true outward example of their DNA & this does show in the many faces & skin shades of this ethnic group. They're beautiful people, both inside & out! It's a really cool country, always welcoming everyone & so far as it's inhabitants goes, i noticed that everyone, from all religious groups & ethnic groups, are living side by side & for the most part, doing so quite harmoniously. In fact, i think the world could take a leaf out of their page. A few fun facts, they produce their own amazing rum, award winning beer, they used to export loads of excellent raw sugar, they produce superb tea & the vanilla tea is so delicious, they have a textiles industry & used to make excellent jumpers, that they'd export, i have seen some people growing vanilla beans & other expensive commodities there. I'm Scandinavian/French/Germanic/English, i lived/worked there for many years & since leaving, have returned twice & i love visiting when i can, which i plan to do again, very soon. Sorry for my very lengthy reply, but i like to share general info, with those that know little regarding Mauritius.

Your videos are superb & such great views of these airplanes & the beautiful surrounds, but it'd be even better view wise, if that lovely banana tree wasn't in the way! The views are stunning, but if we could see the airplane take off, that'd be awesome, as the beautiful sea is just out of sight! I've heard others here saying there's another great lookout too, but you may not see the landings @ the other lookout. Either way, it's tricky to capture it all, but nonetheless you've done a sterling job here! Just brilliant! Ps. I think better moderating & blocking is required here, as i've read a few troll msgs & all very unkind & unnecessary. Just some people hating on a reputable & safe airline, a stunning island & it's beautiful, warm, welcoming & friendly inhabitants.

That place is on the main road of the A10 (if i can remember correctly) when your coming down the M1 motorway towards the Airport, you need to take the slip road that goes towards Mahebourg and just keep following that road, it'll lead you to the side of the runway where the spotting location is, you can park by the side of the road too 😊
