Thanks so much for this interesting view of the Mausoleum of the Black Douglases. My Douglas ancestor came to Pennsylvania from Scotland via Ireland in the 1730's. It would be fascinating to learn what connection he may have to this line.

@sdm193 thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed. All Douglases are connected to this line somehow. The good sir James Douglases (the Black Douglas) great, great, great, grandfather William de Douglas was the first ever Douglas, taking the title the first lord de Douglas. It was the good sir Jameses generation that reduced the surname from de Douglas to the surname of Douglas. Five generations after William took the title and surname. From there every other generation of Douglas has come and spread worldwide. I'm finding it fascinating to learn about as well. I wish you luck, and success in your research to uncover your lineage back to your ancestors (even though not direct ancestors)who lay at rest in this very mausoleum
